If you currently have a Tory MP

have they been canvassing in your area?

I have a Tory MP - majority of just over 10k so he will probably lose his seat but not definitely.

The Labour candidate has sent me an entire tree worth of leaflets, had more than one canvasser round and is constantly in the local press meeting people and planting trees.

The Lib Dem candidate has sent me half a tree worth of leaflets and sent a canvasser round.

The pro life independent candidate has sent me a leaflet with lots of pictures of unborn babies on.

The slightly scary anti covid vaccine independent candidate has sent me a leaflet.

The very very scary time travel independent candidate has managed to pull himself together long enough send me a leaflet. It doesn’t make any sense but he managed to get it printed and put it in my letter box.

But from my actual Tory MP - not a sausage.

Haven’t seen or heard from any of them. Lib dem
candidate has put adverts on the local town information board, they’ve been ripped down.

Hatty65 · 02/07/2024 19:56

Yes. They are the only person who has put a leaflet through the door (twice).

I won't be voting for them. It won't stop them getting in again.

youjustdontgetbabyGertrudesnow · 02/07/2024 19:57

I've had loads from all parties. I'm definitely not voting Tory. Tactical last time would have been SNP but they are an utter shit show too.
No idea what will happen here. Probably the Tories will still bloody get in here. Much to my dismay!

Nothing from the tories here.
Labour notes coming through the door like Harry Potters letters.
Nothing from any other party.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 02/07/2024 19:57

No not seen him at all, but maybe he's not let out by himself?

BrooookeDavis · 02/07/2024 19:59

Yep. Visits from labour and conservative. Whole ton of trees from all of them.

Massively safe Tory seat - they've never bothered campaigning before as it was a given. Think they may be in trouble this time. The quiet Tory voters are ANGRY.

Bax765 · 02/07/2024 19:59

I've received a leaflet from the Tory candidate, but none of the others. I haven't had any canvassers (and never have in 13 years of living here as we are rural and they only bother in the towns).

Oakskn · 02/07/2024 19:59

Leaflets from lib lab con

no visits from anyone thank God

Sunnyside4 · 02/07/2024 20:00

Not seen anything locally from any of our candidates. Have had 3-5 leaflets each from Conservatives, Labour, Green and Libs Dems come through the door at different times!

skippy67 · 02/07/2024 20:00

Yep one came round today. First one we've had. I told him we're not voting Tory...

WhyCantPeopleBeNice · 02/07/2024 20:01

I met our Tory MP today, the only one that's bothered to come!
I can say I was genuinely surprised she seemed personable and nice.

My daughter happened to hear the Reform candidate talking as they went to a club she was at, she walked out at the second racist comment.

No sign of labour, Green, lib dems, the independent or the raving loony party...lots and lots of leaflets though

Alconleigh · 02/07/2024 20:02

2 leaflets from Mr Jenrick. Leaflets from Lib Dem's, Labour and an independent. Only Labour have bothered their arses to come round.

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 02/07/2024 20:03

Yes. He’s been the Tory MP for this seat for 41 years (ultra safe seat til now) and this is the first time in the 21 years I’ve lived here that he’s ever been out locally. There’s been a boundary change so I suppose he doesn’t feel safe, alongside the obvious reasons. However, he’s not a total dick head, supports a lot of local issues and hasn’t been a bad MP in terms of local issues, and he was out knocking doors in 27 degree heat last week and he’s 80 years old. He looked like he was struggling tbh and I confess I felt a little bit sorry for him. I won’t be voting for him but he’s the only candidate that has been out knocking doors here.

HideTheCroissants · 02/07/2024 20:04

We have a conservative MP. I’ve had several leaflets from him. I’ve seen him out and about the area in person and on the local social media pages. He lives in the constituency. Today I had a leaflet from the Labour candidate. I’ve not had anything from anyone else but I do know none of them even live in this borough, let alone this constituency.

It’s difficult. The current government needs to go but my local MP is excellent….. 🫤

Tlolljs · 02/07/2024 20:05

Haven’t had any one round. Green, two independents and a labour leaflet. My mp is standing down this time. 25k majority here probably going to study Tory here I think.

LakeTiticaca · 02/07/2024 20:05

2 days to election day, not a sausage.
Leaflets aplenty but nobody has knocked. I'm desperate to tell them all what I think of them !! 🤣

Afolnerd · 02/07/2024 20:05

We have the awful Gillian Keegan as our mp.
Don’t think she has set foot here in months!

We have had one conservative leaflet which went straight in the recycling.

The only chance here of ousting her is Lib Dem so they have been quite visible and vocal.
Nothing from any others.

Greaterorlesser · 02/07/2024 20:05

Yes our Tory MP has been out door knocking. Not had any visits from any of the others

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/07/2024 20:05

DS says he saw Jacob Rees Mogg today over in the new part of our constituency.

SwordToFlamethrower · 02/07/2024 20:06

We are a tory stronghold with a predicted landslide over to Labour. Had about 2 or 3 leaflets from them, while labour have sent 10+

Voted for Labour as always.

I am stealing your Harry Potter letters quote and pretending I thought of it myself!😂

Nowhere to be seen. Labour did a Sunday morning knock.

thistimelastweek · 02/07/2024 20:08

I have a high profile tory candidate who is portraying himself as the underdog.

I really hope he turns up at my door.

MargaretThursday · 02/07/2024 20:08

So far I have failed to find out any of our candidates' policies. However I do know all about what they think the others are doing wrong and that they are all experts in not answering the question asked, but the question they'd like to have asked (where the answer is blaming each other). Rather surprisingly the Tory candidate seems to be the least bad offender on this. At least he's managed a few SM posts which are positive.

I'm a bit disappointed to not have spoken to any, although I was standing in the hallway earlier, almost a whole metre from the door, as a leaflet came through that proclaimed the LD candidate was disappointed to miss me but I was out when they came round. I peeped out of the window and it wasn't the LD candidate...

I think it's time to get rid of parties and people can stand on their own morals and answer for what they do.

Churchview · 02/07/2024 20:09

Nothing from our Tory MP (former disgraced Defence Minister). He never comes to our town and this election's not changed that. He did send a leaflet through the postal system as did the Lib Dem fella.

Our Labour candidate walked up our path with a leaflet a couple of Saturday evenings back and stayed for a chat.
