Violent vomiting for hours overnight so thought just bad dose of D&V. But very sore chest. Sore neck (glands like 2 hardboiled eggs). No temp but shivery.
Pale, clammy, massive headache not resolving with ibuprofen / paracetamol. Any ideas what it might be (covid?)
We are due on hols in 12 days (1st flight ever) & would really like him well.

Tryponin was 2,300, now 3,200.
They're going to scan his heart & lungs.

Thinking of you and hoping your DS will be better soon.

Silviasilvertoes · 01/07/2024 09:23

OP you must be worried sick. And with your STBX and DD too. STBX needs to pull his weight here too. Please keep us posted. Hugs and hand hold. Your DS is in the right place, it’s good that you took him in. Hope he’s better very soon.

Stay with him. He’s very unwell

Gymmum82 · 01/07/2024 09:25

That is very high and the fact it’s going up is concerning. You definitely need to stay with him. Your 16 year old will have to manage

familyissues12345 · 01/07/2024 09:28

Gosh OP, here thinking of you x

NippyCrab · 01/07/2024 09:32

Omg thank goodness you took him in, hugs. X

Pericarditis? Poor you and Dd. Hope all improving.

I immediately thought this. Not an expert or anything, but DP has had pericarditis a few times now and those symptoms sound very familiar. At least your son is in the safest place for him and you will hopefully have some answers soon, Such a scary situation for you bothFlowers

housethatbuiltme · 01/07/2024 09:40

Read update so I guess if you have a viral diagnosis and are getting treated previous post doesn't apply

Choconuttolata · 01/07/2024 09:40

Are they thinking myopericarditis or pulmonary embolism OP? My DH is autistic and had cardiac issues and pulmonary embolism during and post-Covid infection. He recovered well with treatment. Also had two friends with pericarditis Post-Covid that recovered well.

You must be very worried. He is in the right place to get the help he needs, what a good thing you trusted your gut and took him in.

Hospital is a stressful place at that best of times let alone when you are autistic with sensory issues. I hope your ex can at least be there for you and him in this and that your DD is as ok as she can be. Does your DD have any friends whose parents who could support you temporarily if need be?

Thisoldheartofmine · 01/07/2024 09:42

TemporaryName123 · 01/07/2024 09:46

Sending good wishes, so scary for you

TurtleTackle · 01/07/2024 09:49

Have they checked his crp or taken his blood gasses ? ( I assume they would have with his symptoms) But when I had sepsis my trop levels where over 8000.
I hope you are ok and your son recovers quickly and is ok
💕

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 01/07/2024 09:52

Trickedbyadoughnut · 01/07/2024 09:55

IfItWereMe · 01/07/2024 09:57

I have been checking your thread throughout the night OP. I am keeping you both in my prayers. X

Gcsunnyside23 · 01/07/2024 10:03

I'm glad you got him to a&e and they are looking after him

medianewbie · 01/07/2024 10:04

Thanks for all the kind replies. I've no family, & of 2 good friends one is in Spain & one has D&V. ExH & Dd may have to put up with each other later.
Cardiology has just been in & cancelled the pulmonary embolism scan another Doctor ordered 30 mins ago (this is our 4th Dr). He said: 'dont worry, young people don't have heart attacks' (hmm). Is going to order an ultrasound & give Ds a low dose beta blocker. No one seems worried about Tryponin level.

Lougle · 01/07/2024 10:06

It's good that he's in hospital and the ECG was clear.

justasking111 · 01/07/2024 10:06

Sending strength to you both.

HellsBells67 · 01/07/2024 10:10

Ask him for the evidence young people don't have heart attacks, if he is so cock sure of that to cancel it. I would not accept that at all. Young people have had heart attacks post covid and covid vaccine sadly.

medianewbie · 01/07/2024 10:13

@HellsBells67 Yes. I'm going to let them do the ultrasound & hear results then I might challenge that sweeping statement yes (outwith Ds' hearing)

HellsBells67 · 01/07/2024 10:15

I'm in South Ayrshire if you're desperate for help with dd, I can head over as far as Glasgow. Not sure a stranger is any more reassuring for your dd but I know how tough things are for you right now. I'd be happy to help.
