Violent vomiting for hours overnight so thought just bad dose of D&V. But very sore chest. Sore neck (glands like 2 hardboiled eggs). No temp but shivery.
Pale, clammy, massive headache not resolving with ibuprofen / paracetamol. Any ideas what it might be (covid?)
We are due on hols in 12 days (1st flight ever) & would really like him well.

How worrying for you op and so relieved you took him in.

Bananasontoast2 · 01/07/2024 07:34

Sorry to hear this but he’s definitely in the right place now.
could it be an infection around his heart. This would cause his infectious type symptoms too.
poor thing, sounds awful. And for you too.

my dd spent a lot of her childhood in hospital. Having another one at home is horrid, you feel so torn. Have you any good friends you can call on? Or family? Instead of putting yourself in an even more stressful situation by asking exH.

good luck. Hope ds feels better soon

Bluemincat · 01/07/2024 07:42

So glad you went in. Hope they can find the reason for the high blood levels soon. Sounds like you have a lot on, with ex-H as well. Make sure you're looking after yourself and getting enough to eat and drink.

They're just taking a 2nd set of bloods to compare the levels.

Ah all sounds so complicated with your ex. Hope Dd is ok too.

Carlou · 01/07/2024 07:58

Pericarditis? Poor you and Dd. Hope all improving.

6pence · 01/07/2024 08:05

Blimey, poor lad. Glad you took him in.

Gymmum82 · 01/07/2024 08:13

It sounds like he has myocarditis which can be pretty serious, can be caused by a myriad of different things including Covid. It’s good that he’s in hospital and getting treatment, hopefully he’s on the mend soon

WishingOnACar · 01/07/2024 08:16

Glad you took him in OP. Hope he makes a speedy recovery

There has been a really nasty bug that presents like that -relentless hard vomiting for 36 hours,{Dry heaves} hot and cold, grim headache, I assumed norovirus, but online it suggested covid.

Hope he feels better soon.

Edit...Saw your updates..Not covid.

What is this awful bug {So many have had it} - I see the docs say ''Viral''.

ThelmaDinkley · 01/07/2024 08:25

Hope your lad gets sorted soon and feels better.

Enough4me · 01/07/2024 08:26

Try to make sure you keep hydrated and when you can eat and rest too. This will have been stressful for your body & mind too and going through a divorce is already tough. Looking after you will give you more energy to look after your DCs.

timetobegin · 01/07/2024 08:29

Wow that’s a hard juggle. Poor all of you. Can one of your family come and be home for dd?

PinkPlantCase · 01/07/2024 08:32

Thinking of you OP, hope your DS is okay x

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 01/07/2024 08:34

Before rushing to a@e

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 01/07/2024 08:36

Sorry just read updates.

Hope he gets well soon.

RampantKrampus · 01/07/2024 08:38

Hope you and DE (and DD!) are ok OP. Sounds awful.

3luckystars · 01/07/2024 08:43

I really hope he is ok.

Covid is not the only show in town, I was very sick a few weeks ago and everyone kept saying ‘it’s just covid’ but it was a chest and ear infection. I should have went earlier to the doctor. It’s kind of dangerous that covid is breaking out again as everything gets put down to that.

I really hope you get some answers today and your lovely son is ok. 💕

bluecomputerscreen · 01/07/2024 08:45

did he gave his meningitis vaccines?

I agree he needs to be seen as soon as possible.

bluecomputerscreen · 01/07/2024 08:48

and of course I'm glad he's being treated.

hope he recovers soon!

really should read the whole thread

ImustLearn2Cook · 01/07/2024 08:49

@medianewbie I hope your son gets better soon. I’m glad he’s getting good care at the hospital. 💐

lovelyjubblys · 01/07/2024 08:50

my daughters friend started off with those symptoms. It was meningitis. I hope that's not the case here. A&E for this. Urgent.

Fraaahnces · 01/07/2024 08:50

Elevated troponin levels are not to be ignored. Your DS’s levels are really quite high. My guess is that he has a virus that has infected some part of his heart and part of the muscle is damaged. I’d stay with him. I know DD has autism but STBX can stay with her. You’d never forgive yourself if something happened.

ApolloandDaphne · 01/07/2024 08:51

I hope your DS makes a good recovery and you get off on holiday.

Buttoneyed · 01/07/2024 08:58

I hope they get him sorted soon. Glad you took him in
