Anyone else think there might be something strange about the 19yr old disappearance in Tenerife?

I get that kids do foolish things, like travelling at night with 2 strangers.

But if he was seen at the new accommodation around 8am, and again walking briskly along the road some time “later”, how could he have needed to make a call at 8.30am saying he was lost, had no phone charge and needed water? He would have only just left the accommodation so definitely wouldn’t need water. And why not send your gps or what three words location then?

Is it so strange to think the mum is referring to someone having him because the alternative will be way worse for her to think about?

I'm not sure why people are confused about these comments from mum tbh.

Hiring an interpreter might be a decent use of the Go Fund Me money since they've mentioned the language barrier a bunch of times and seem to think it's negatively affecting the investigation.

ReadyTeddy1000 · 22/06/2024 15:03

And re kidnap theories, if he wasn't involved in anything dodgy, Why on earth else would he be kidnapped with no apparent ransom demand?

I agree to a degree but she started mentioning kidnap early on. A more expected reaction would be “it’s so cold out there at night etc” kidnap is an odd one unless there’s other information to make her think along these lines. Even murder is a more logical first jump than kidnapping.

"Doubt it" isn't really a decent argument against

I'm not trying to argue against. I'm not a detective nor pretending to be one like many others.

Or who knows, maybe Lucy paid for her past 17 trips to Tenerife in the last 2 years herself so the Go Fund Me is needed to pay for her next 17 trips to Tenerife for the next 2 years 👀

I mean come on watch this video. It smacks of her knowing he was into something he shouldn’t have been and has got into trouble with some people you don’t mess with!

Absolutely.
Nobody's saying he doesn't deserve to be found or that he deserves what's happening, but jeez, his mum's wording is very clear that she knows *something

I guess it depends on your frame of mind when watching it.

All I see and hear is a mum that knows her kid probably took drugs before he went, most definitely did take drugs whilst there, and knows his life was getting plastered all over the place.

A lad vanished out of the blue during the day, without a single trace! Something doesn't add up here; that girl set him up! Something dodgy is going on here.

I think most people posting all these conspiracy theories don’t have teenage boys. They do stupid things!

Yes they absolutely do.
But there are an awful lot of additional weird things/coincidences/questions on top of a daft boy doing something daft.

When there are people/families who’ve made millions off a gullible public for what is effectively calorie deficit not sure we should all get worked up about £30k 😜

Yeah I agree. Slightly different if the investigation confirms that they're scamming or whatever, but as things stand, it's speculation at the moment

You hear variations of this theme on the commentary about all kinds of grifts,
take stock market manipulation for example, "who cares about a little pump & dump when hedge funds rig the market all the time".

A grift is a grift and a scam is a scam in my opinion, 'whataboutery' shouldn't come into it and it doesn't matter whether a grift is committed by David or Goliath.

Could eternally point towards somebody higher up the food chain who's committed a bigger scam.

The GFM's just topped 27 grand.

Yea probably. Lots of MNers will have children going away for the first time this year and Tenerife is a popular place.

Yes sure the problem is many can’t spot grift when it’s a middle class one. Find it fascinating they’d defend it to the death even when people point it out to them.

Must be very popular with Lucy considering she's been there 17 times!!
