Anyone else think there might be something strange about the 19yr old disappearance in Tenerife?

I get that kids do foolish things, like travelling at night with 2 strangers.

But if he was seen at the new accommodation around 8am, and again walking briskly along the road some time “later”, how could he have needed to make a call at 8.30am saying he was lost, had no phone charge and needed water? He would have only just left the accommodation so definitely wouldn’t need water. And why not send your gps or what three words location then?

Was there a go fund me set up for dr Mosley?

WetherspoonsSnob · 23/06/2024 14:46

Only 8 quid till its beat the 30 grand target now...

WetherspoonsSnob · 23/06/2024 14:55

To silysosig on the tattle thread who's reading this, it's now £30,460- the amount of donations have increased massively in the last ten minutes for some reason.

If the target is increased to 35 or even 40k, I think even the more gullible among us will be shaking their heads.

There's been a near-unnaiminous reponse of disbelief to Debbie's comment, variations of "isn't 30k more than enough" on my social media feed.

WetherspoonsSnob · 23/06/2024 17:04

to girlinbrum from the tattle thread, yes i believe it is time

Allthehorsesintheworld · 23/06/2024 17:08

“please continue to share our fundraiser far and wide”
Not please spread the fact we’re still searching, please share his photo or even please pray for his safety…….but share the fundraiser. Hmmmmm

@Allthehorsesintheworld
Now, who knows what Debbie Duncan is thinking, her motivations, influences
if there is nefarious goings on here, the money will not be released will it?
why are people sending money anyway, por que razon ?

We are more cynical now, post Karen Matthews, Canoe man John Darwin,
John Stonehouse, probably more.
Mick and Mairead Phillpotts, crocodile tears, wanted a bigger council house,

We also know how fruitless wilderness searches can be -
MM body was only spotted from offshore,
Julian Sands remains were not found for months,
family found on a wilderness trail in America dead, with baby and dog in blistering heat,
poor little Emile remains at the side of the road after the area had already been searched

Having water in a backpack in sun isn’t going to keep it cool for long in 30+

I’m amazed that none of the newspapers have yet tracked down the two men

The Spanish police and firemen out searching scrub in heavy boots helmets
and uniforms are nothing short of heroic

Yes the Airbnb listing for the property has been widely circulated. The two men who’d rented it apparently flew back to uk early after questioning and obviously being free to do so. Apparently one was 40ish one a bit younger looking. The witness is the lady who owns the Airbnb.

I think the intrigue is because for whatever reason the statements and interviews of friends and relatives seem off. There’s also the drug selling angle and criminal past. Add to that Tenerife and young people seemingly living the high life with no obvious income.

SaltySeaCat · 23/06/2024 21:09

I don’t think he spent the night there - think he arrived 6am and left 8ish. Or so I read but who knows.

I read a report (not just a FB post!) that they’d been interviewed by police, had been due to leave the next day but stayed an extra day before leaving. So the police know who they are and where to find them, I guess in those circumstances they’d take a copy of their passports etc?

Mark Williams-Thomas has offered to help the family with his investigative skills, I'm sorry but just because he became famous for that Jimmy Saville stuff 10 years back- it doesn't give him the right to interfere in an ongoing investigation.

The Spanish Police already know who the two men are, interviewed them etc.. and have their details, it's not his business as a private citizen to go finding out who they are and hassling them- he's not the UK's Benoit Blanc ffs, this isn't a movie.

It's giving me vibes of Peter Faulding, the search guy from the Nicola Bulley case.

Is she taking the mick????

Misthios · 24/06/2024 08:52

There are 280,000 people on that group. That is a HUGE number of people who are over-invested in this story.

Moirarosesgarden · 24/06/2024 08:56

The thing that I find strange is the lack of updates from Spanish police or anyone official on the island. Compared to the Michael Moseley case when there were regular updates (all be it often from the mayor). I think they know more than they are letting on (which of course is how it should be) so hopefully it’s a matter of time before the truth is found out.

MermaidEyes · 24/06/2024 09:48

How does gofundme work, if something dodgy's cracking off and the money isn't released then does it get refunded?

Feelsodrained · 24/06/2024 10:07

If this turns out to be some scam, the family and friends should be forced to do unpaid litter picking in Tenerife for the next ten years.
