Chub rub - bloody hell!

I've got chub rub for the first time. Why????

I've never had it before - i'm a bit overweight and my thighs are bigger than I'd like, but this has always been the case and I've never had it before. Why now?!

Seriously though, what do I do? How do I get rid of it? I wore a floaty dress today and now my thighs are red and sore. I never fully appreciated how bad this was!

I used to buy snag chub rub but I didn't like being told that men can wear their tights, plaster themselves all over the website and call themselves women and if I didn't like having it shoved in my face,to fuck off elsewhere

I did-better tights do chub rub shorts and they are just as good

I'm a hot,sweaty and sticky person-these don't make it worse

I live in them

CommeUneVacheEspagnole · 20/06/2024 21:20

I've recently had this for the first time. I've been fat a while but was in a hot country and wore shorts. Thought I'd be ok but a word of warning... they ride up and you run but if you pull them down and it's not tight on the crotch, they rub that way too.

Design flaw if you ask me! Especially as PP says it happens when not overweight.

SecondStarOnTheRight · 20/06/2024 21:21

Highly recommend snag chub rub shorts!

Spent time in Australia in December, including a very humid 40°C outback, and I lived in mine nearly every day. They where a blessing!

Starsalone · 20/06/2024 21:23

I recently bought some Sloggi longline knickers after reading about them on here. Absolute life saver! They are cotton so not too hot (at the moment).

SnapdragonToadflax · 20/06/2024 21:24

I like the Big Bloomers ones with the little holes in, so comfy and not hot at all. I do have some Snag ones but find them a bit too long and hot-making compared to the Big Bloomers.

Literally every woman I know wears shorts under dresses nowadays. Size 10 up.

PiggieWig · 20/06/2024 21:26

I’ve been afflicted since childhood. As an adult I’ve been every size from 10 to 18 and always suffer. Must be the shape of my thighs.

You need Snag chub rub shorts for prevention and Sudocrem for relief.

Two days and you’ll be fine but sympathy because it is one of the most painful conditions known to man.

Kittensat36 · 20/06/2024 21:28

Had a text from Snag this week asking people to buy them as they over-ordered. I'm not sure how true this is or just a marketing thing.

One thing that they do have going for them is the range of colours. Lots of variety of they're going to be visible under things.

Fluffyowl00 · 20/06/2024 21:28

Asda’s little angels liquid talc also works a treat if you don’t went to wear shorts.

Freixene · 20/06/2024 21:30

This happened to me to the first time recently too! Horrible! I used sudocrem to heal then petroleum jelly to prevent in future - works great. Just the non brand vaseline stuff from Poundland

Shirtyllama · 20/06/2024 21:31

Another rec for Snag, amazing and not at all sweaty, ideally I'd lose weight immediately but that's not happening yet. This way I get to wear skirts and dresses when I want to. (Their tights are great for winter too - lots of sizes, and lovely range of colours and thicknesses)

AuroraRunaway · 20/06/2024 21:31

I find shorts too hot, but Lanacane anti chafing gel works like a dream - I keep a tube of it in every handbag!

ladycarlotta · 20/06/2024 21:32

Anyone got chub rub shorts recommendations for pregnancy? I have Snags but they will not accommodate the bump much longer. I'm approaching my third trimester and it's going to be one chafey summer.

RuthW · 20/06/2024 21:34

Popsy shorts for me

kitsuneghost · 20/06/2024 21:34

Another vote for snag. Wore them last year walking for hours a day and actually felt they kept me cooler.

LaLaLouella · 20/06/2024 21:36

This stuff - 3B Action Cream for sweat rash and chafing.

I am ample of thigh and this kept my skin soft, dry and pain free during an incredibly hot and sweaty fortnight doing miles of walking...

Chub rub - bloody hell!
CherryBombe · 20/06/2024 21:41

I find the snag shorts actually keep me cooler

HermioneWeasley · 20/06/2024 21:45

I hated the snag ones - just like cut off tights. They were much too hot and I needed underwear with them. Another vote for sloggi long line knickers - they’re cotton and nothing needed under them.

Mumsgirls · 20/06/2024 21:45

Would not use talc in that area as can cause cancer. Sudo cream does the job

Disturbia81 · 20/06/2024 21:48

Trying to think why, if your thighs haven't got bigger then maybe the skin is a bit looser at the top? I have it at the tops from losing weight

Pritas · 20/06/2024 21:51

I had never heard of this until recently when I came across a cure for my foot blisters. It's called lanacane anti chafe cream, used by cyclists. I use it on my feet but apparently it works if your thighs rub together.

Carolwithane · 20/06/2024 21:52

I use Asda little angels liquid talc. Amazing stuff, lasts all day and cheap as chips

Mumontherunn · 20/06/2024 22:01

I have used this for years - they do a small travel size version soo for holidays. They last forever! Just rub on your inner thigh

ScarletWitchM · 20/06/2024 22:07

lanacane anti chafe gel from boots or Superdrug - costs about £6 but you only need a little bit and it stops the rub

HiddenBooks · 20/06/2024 22:17

I prefer these M&S ones over snag tights. I don't even notice I'm wearing them. I've worn them under dresses in the humidity of Florida.

Absolute game changer!

IVbumble · 20/06/2024 22:17

Popsy shorts are usually better than Snag.

Cotton cycle shorts from Primark are the best.

I've heard that vaseline or talcum powder also helps.
