19 year old missing.

I haven't seen any posts on this although I may have missed it.

A 19 year old boy has gone missing while on holiday with friends in Tenerife. No phone battery and has not been heard from since 8am yesterday.

I cannot stop thinking about him and his family. I have a son the same age who was due to go abroad with his friends for the first time last week but plans were cancelled last minute and now I feel like I never want him to go anywhere!

I'm not sure the point in me posting this as no one will know what has happened, I guess I just can't help thinking what if he was my son?

I am praying he is okay. My heart absolutely breaks for his Mum who has traveled there this morning.

Its getting more ridiculous by the day with all the Facebook conspiracies (FWIW I don't think it's as simple as "lad got lost")

There's a Go Fund Me to raise money to get him home, if anyone needs an outlet for their compassion. Although I'm not sure how the £25k raised so far will bring him home if they don't know where he is.

I bet Lucy is rubbing her grubby hands with glee.

Please don't encourage people to pay into this - it looks dodgy as hell.

Like you then?

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 22/06/2024 08:39

I won't be donating to a boy who macheted another and laughed about it in court. No thanks.

Xmasfairy86 · 22/06/2024 08:41

Pretty sure the go fund me has been stopped. Last I heard was Lucy has been arrested. Some drugs run gone wrong.

Do you have a link to support this?

Xmasfairy86 · 22/06/2024 08:49

Obviously all speculation right now, just what I’ve read.

If I was really encouraging people I would have e put a link. I find it genuinely odd because, as I said, how would it help bring him home since they don't know where he is?

No, all internet gossip sadly. Although the drugs thing seemed to be spreading

Doesn’t change the fact a young lad is missing, just the circumstances surrounding it becoming more unclear in my mind

Pretty sure it hasn't since you can still donate.

BeefBrisket · 22/06/2024 08:53

None of these things are relevant to the fact this young boy is missing and the boy who was attacked has asked people to stop using his name like this, and points to the fact the lad is missing and that’s what matters right now

'Young boy' is 2-5 years old. These are young men. Men who commuted violent crimes and are involved in the justice system as adults. We do not need to infantilise them, nor mark them as saints because one is missing.

Has this boy murdered someone? I saw a post where his victim was as asking for everyone to help look for him or is that wrong?

Well if he had murdered someone they wouldn't be commenting would they unless they are using a ouija board.

Apologies I worded this wrong. I meant did he kill someone as well as the attack everyone is talking about?

Nit killed because he’d be in prison for it now.
But him along with other young men were sent to court. Vet soon after he went missing I saw posts on X regarding this young man’s previous crime.

LakeTiticaca · 22/06/2024 09:09

I think he's probably slipped and fallen and won't be found alive. They won't keep searching indefinitely, they will have to call.off eventually.
It could be weeks or months before he is found, possibly stumbled upon by some experienced hikers.

Summary:

Young man with a violent criminal record goes to Tenerife. Attends 3 day rave (where drugs and drinks are available). He goes off with complete strangers to a remote location almost certainly to do something illegal. Last known contact/sighting the following morning, he was trying to get back to his accommodation whilst dehydrated, probably no money and likely still high with drugs in his system.

Likely outcome. He got lost and is dead.

Exactly this. I wonder how much this is costing….the search teams…the police…his family.

Sadly there won’t be a good outcome, there’s not a chance he’s still alive.

he decided to walk the 10/11 hour walk back alone 🤔 yet his family say he’s ‘sensible and street wise’.

Yes it’s sad that anyone has to lose a child but the coverage in the media is just crazy. It isn’t a search and rescue, it will be a recovery of a body.

The go fund me page to get him home is just crazy.

Bromptotoo · 22/06/2024 09:19

Agree with PP that him being found alive is, by now, a remote possibility.

Whatever his record and whatever substances he consumed he's still somebody's son and friend. His antecedents make not the slightest difference to that.

Agree. When you look at the chain of events, it’s obvious. Won’t stop the conspiracy theorists though.

I started reading them yesterday on a long car journey and it's like a soap opera! As someone said (possible a different post) if he is found alive then the Netflix documentary will be excellent.

It's actually one of those times that you wish all the conspiracy stuff was real as then the poor lad might be alive somewhere still.

Also, can’t think the general public, nor the police, in Tenerife are going to be sympathetic to this situation, bearing in mind all the recent anti tourist protests. The money for this search will be huge, and coming out of their public purse.
