I bought this top and I love it. I’m going to wear it in with a blazer anyway. But I’m assuming if it gets too hot is it inappropriate?

This is inappropriate sorry. If it's truly covered by a blazer then surely the front view with the blazer is what you should be asking. But you wouldn't be able to take the blazer off if you were hot- backs should be covered in the office.

Treestumpp · 14/06/2024 17:11

Correct.

Will get the fellas talking.

IncompleteSenten · 14/06/2024 17:12

Does anyone else in your office dress in a similar way?
That's usually the best way to get a feel for what's considered ok in any particular office. Look at what those who've worked there a while wear.

BringMeSunshineAllDayLong · 14/06/2024 17:13

I wouldn't. It's lovely for a non work place though

What the fuck? Are you okay?

haddockfortea · 14/06/2024 17:13

If you have to ask, then you already know the answer really, don't you?

AstonMartha · 14/06/2024 17:13

It depends on the office really?

You work there op, we don’t!

GuinnessBird · 14/06/2024 17:14

What does it look like from the front?

BeeCucumber · 14/06/2024 17:15

It wouldn’t be appropriate for many offices - where do you work?

Soontobe60 · 14/06/2024 17:16

It smack of ‘look at meee’. If you work in an office where everyone dresses in this way, then you're OK. If not, then you're not.

Username947531 · 14/06/2024 17:18

Totally inappropriate I'm afraid. Bare back and shoulders is never OK in an office environment.

BlowDryRat · 14/06/2024 17:18

Unless it's normal to show your back and shoulders in your office, then no. I've pulled up members of my team for wearing vest tops on video calls when they WFH. It's not appropriate for our business.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 14/06/2024 17:19

It's not office wear.

Have you time traveled from the 1950s?! 😳😳

MrsSkylerWhite · 14/06/2024 17:20

No. Not without a close fitting t-shirt underneath anyway.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 14/06/2024 17:21

It's Marks and Sparks (only calling them that to avoid clickthroughs from using the initials). 98% of their 'workwear' is completely unacceptable in professional workplaces.

ShowerOfShites · 14/06/2024 17:21

Not appropriate.

What does the rest of it look like, just out of interest?

70 years may have passed since then but men havent changed!

ManilowBarry · 14/06/2024 17:24

Very unprofessional to wear that in an office of a financial institution but if it's some trendy marketing place they might let you.

Personally I wouldn't wear it in any kind of professional environment.

LoopyLooooo · 14/06/2024 17:25

I've just seen The rest of it....

Perhaps not too inappropriate but shapeless and baggy.

It's actually quite nice. The model is very slender so I imagine it wouldn't look shapeless. Tbh it's just not work wear and it's hardly scorching weather to justify such backless top. It is nice though!

Jeezitneverends · 14/06/2024 17:26

it just shouts attention seeker

AuntieJoyce · 14/06/2024 17:28

I like it. I would wear it in summer if the temperature was warm in the office no problem. Our office code is smart casual.

Aallvtirin · 14/06/2024 17:28

Depends on your office I think. What does it look like from the front?
