Craig Williams statement

Keen to demonstrate that there is competition to be the bluntest tool in the Tory party.

Williams was the PM's aide and he clearly had a good idea that a July election was brewing.

Saying he fancied a "flutter" is an attempt to minimise his actions.

Dh deciding whether to organise a proxy vote as he's just been called for his hip replacement operation next Friday He's being done as a day case

Worst case scenario, I drive him there (usually we walk) and then he only has a small distance to walk. I've told him he may as well organise for me to have his proxy as he can still vote himself if he wants to.
