Fuck sake some of the comments on here are disgusting. Speculating not only that he may have killed himself but also how he might have done so. Some of you should be fucking ashamed. This thread is just like the Nicola Bulley ones. I suspect that the main contributers on this thread are the same idiots that were on those threads with a name change. The posting style of 3 or 4 posters here is very similar.

Aquarius1234 · 08/06/2024 23:21

When you are very secure and happy in your life and relationship it's totally no issue to go off for a bit alone. Doesn't mean loneliness or depression.
Going for a walk alone is again fine.
But it's just how he did it in those circumstances.

Oaktree55 · 08/06/2024 23:21

If you search you’ll find him comment on it in interviews. Another poster linked a very obvious article which may be fake but he’s commented on periods of low mood throughout his life.

ducktapez · 08/06/2024 23:21

Yeah whats weird about that is the mayor is talking like one of us on an internet forum who cant influence anything or learn anything direct. You'd think he'd be involved with the police and search and rescue who have no doubt asked all these things and more from MMs wife and friends. Perhaps he just hasn't been involved and hasn't been told not to spout off to the press.

Oaktree55 · 08/06/2024 23:23

I’m pretty sure the Mayor will have all the info.

Apolloneuro · 08/06/2024 23:23

I wonder how many posters salivating under the disguise of concern were also all over the Nicola Bulley threads?

Seems like some people genuinely can’t distinguish between real life and a Netflix box set.

Weird.

Lemsipper · 08/06/2024 23:24

What a bizzare thread. You know your tittle tattle isnt helping find him at all right?

ssd · 08/06/2024 23:26

I reported i think the 2nd thread on this disappearance after a particularly horrible post. Speculating about stuff in a way we dont need. MNHQ said theyd look at it.
I think all these threads should be pulled

I agree, some of these posters are disgraceful. They are treating it like a reality tv show.

He WAS walking fast though

No faster than my DH always walks.

Oaktree55 · 08/06/2024 23:28

If there are odd comments made by people involved in a missing person case you can’t be shocked when people try to make sense of it.

ducktapez · 08/06/2024 23:28

Crikey it wasnt fast at all, and maybe the cctv footage was on 1.25 speed! It wasnt like he was running. It was a good walking pace.

Aquarius1234 · 08/06/2024 23:28

I always think people that walk fast are stressed or in a hurry.
I know that's totally wrong.

So why say it?

Aquarius1234 · 08/06/2024 23:30

Absolutely no reason why these threads should close.
It will probably all come out tomorrow whatever the outcome.

headstone · 08/06/2024 23:31

It seemed fast to me and others, and it was the last image before he disappeared mysteriously and of course it was incredibly hot. Might be nothing of course but everyone is looking for clues.

Aquarius1234 · 08/06/2024 23:31

Apolloneuro · 08/06/2024 23:30

So why say it?

Cos I'd like to know what goes on in the minds of those that walk quickly all of the time.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 08/06/2024 23:31

The mayor will not have had media training. I think he is coming across as less than measured in his comments but he would never have expected to be thrust into the centre of a media storm like this. I don't think there is much to be read into it other than someone well outside their comfort zone.

It is. I’m a naturally fast walker. I grew up in a very busy city not in the U.K.

Many people walk as if on a mission.

And MM was a fit, experienced and long-time walker so would have a good default pace.

wurlycurly · 08/06/2024 23:32

Gossip and talk are much maligned! When things happen, unexpected, unexplained things; people will speculate about what happened. I find it strange that people get mad about that. It's just human nature?

Aquarius1234 · 08/06/2024 23:33

We all know what Mayor's are like..

ducktapez · 08/06/2024 23:33

Indeed, the news reports are all over the place. Its impossible to determine whats fact and whats conjecture. But if we believe that footage is the last confirmed sighting, and he never returned via Pedi beach, and never appeared on the other side in Symi, then clearly he's somewhere on the peninsula still, or got a boat somewhere. I'd like to think there's a better more positive explanation but it seems unlikely. I presume the search in the morning is still focusing on the peninsula?

Yes of course this may well be true and he’s thinking out loud to journalists. I may well be reading too much into what he’s saying.

Problem is often there isn’t even a “guise of concern”; it’s more a sense of entitlement to know the ins and outs.

It's the same people that say does it matter regarding someone's sexuality.
They just like to hush people.
