Tinned chopped tomatoes that are not all stalk and skin

Just that really…what are the best tinned tomatoes? I’ve just fished out a ton of stalk and skin from tins of Napolina and am grumpy about it. About 10 stalks in one tin! I’ve also tried M&S and Waitrose as I thought they might be a bit more “premium” alas no…they were just as bad.
Any recommendations on tins that are consistently (relatively) free from skins and stalk? I don’t mind paying more for great quality but the go-to beacons of quality have failed me.
<also are my expectations too high? 😂>

Also recommend Mutti polpa. Literally zero’s stalks or skins.

i mean it is all tomato, not exactly a foreign body

i have never noticed stalks though

Neither have I.

I only buy tinned whole plum tomatoes and chop them myself. Never seen to have a problem with skin and stalk.

I think if you love cooking and your family ate ' foodies' then the mutti polpa are great, as it's not just texture , it's the taste - and I personally can tell the difference.

Whereas my son who is 26 wouldn't tell the difference at all .

I'm going to make shakshuka for tea tonight. Thank you for the inspiration @buffyslayer

Well…I’m delighted to report I’m a convert to Mutti. Just made a simple tomato and mascarpone sauce with the pasta and the kids couldn’t get enough. Enjoyed not having to fish out the stalks, skin and unripe bits and tasted delicious. I wished I had asked this sooner! Thanks for the recommendations!

Another vote for Lidl.
Even their basic tinned plum tomatoes are better than most. Used some earlier and there was no sauce or skin and the juice was thick.

What brand of tomatoes has stalks, skin and unripe bits? I have never found them in tinned tomatoes. Mind you, I don't buy budget/value brands.

Have you tried the tinned Cherry Tomatoes? They are seriously nice Wink
