Just that!

I'll start.

I have a mixed south London accent come Surrey accent.
I basically queens English with a slight chav twang.
Born and raised in south London, moved to Surrey in my teens. It's helped my vocabulary tremendously.

What accent do you have?

Mild Southern US, Georgia and Carolina low country variety.

WestendVBroadway · 29/05/2024 20:25

I have always lived in The West Country, but always thought I spoke slightly RP. My parents are from the Caribbean, but went to private schools there. I went to grammar school, and my friends from other schools said I sounded a bit posh. However if I hear my recorded voice I sound pure Somerset to me.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 29/05/2024 20:26

Mine is a right dog's dinner.
Posh Belfast which got anglised as I slowed down to make people understand me. Bit of Brummie.
Now people think I'm Scottish /West Country /Canadian.
Apart from people from Belfast who think I'm generic English

Dumbo18 · 29/05/2024 20:28

Scouse - probably as scouse as you can get 😂 lived in the same area all my life

Phantasmagorically · 29/05/2024 20:29

South Dublin. Bit of a DART accent if I'm being honest.

AlmostCutMyHairToday · 29/05/2024 21:43

Most people assume I'm Canadian, although some think I'm Scottish. I am neither Canadian nor Scottish.

London/Essex. People often comment on it and ask where I'm from. I of course am completely unaware myself.

philosoppee · 29/05/2024 21:49

Mancunian and it's got stronger as I've got older!

banjaxedeejit · 29/05/2024 21:50

Irish (Co Limerick)

IsThePopeCatholic · 29/05/2024 21:58

RP with a touch of Sarf London.

lemondropsandchimneytops · 29/05/2024 22:02

Northern Irish but it was never very strong anyway but now live in Scotland. Most people here think I sound like I'm from Orkney or the Hebrides 🫠

TryingToSeeTheFunnySide · 29/05/2024 22:04

Mostly just standard English. Which is odd, as I was born in Northern Ireland to NI parents, we moved to England when I was two, I spent most of my childhood in the west country, then I moved to East London in my 20s. I've got tiny influences of those three places in my accent from time to time!

Anotherdayanotherhangover · 29/05/2024 22:04

What a great thread- I love accents😊
Mine is norh-west Derbyshire, but I think my dialect rather than my accent gives me away as being born and bred.

Beezknees · 29/05/2024 22:04

Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire. I can easily identify someone who is from here by the accent.

TryingToSeeTheFunnySide · 29/05/2024 22:06

In fact people often think I sound posh, like I went to boarding school, which is really weird! I went to a common comprehensive 😂
I guess Radio 4 was on a lot at home?!

tinytemper66 · 29/05/2024 22:29

A real Welsh accent..
Not Swansea ;definitely not Cardiff!

NattyTurtle · 29/05/2024 22:37

New Zealand

yeesh · 29/05/2024 22:46

My phone/work accent is a mild/generic south Wales but gets more and more Cardiff when I’m drunk/annoyed (or if surrounded by other Cardiff folks 😂)

Toodleoodleooh · 29/05/2024 22:50

Generic well spoken middle class neutral southern accent.

midnights0 · 29/05/2024 23:01

Valleys Welsh, my husband is from London. When we first met we couldn't understand eachother 🤣

3peassuit · 29/05/2024 23:05

Chiswick with a bit of Wexford thrown in.
