I was complaining to my neighbour that I had been denied access to a facebook group (fyi the bar for men is so low it’s a tavern in hades), she said she was once rejected for joining a bowl club facebook group….. the worst part is that she set up the bowls club in question and is currently their treasurer!! Can anyone beat that?

Whitelilacs · 15/05/2024 17:37

I can’t beat that but was rejected from a BLW Facebook group because I once tried to spoon feed DD porridge!

tillytoodles1 · 15/05/2024 17:46

I was ejected by a local group because a man with three kids, who hadn't worked for nine years was upset by the two child benefit
rule as they got no money for the youngest and his partner was pregnant again. I told him him to go and look for a job.
Before anyone dives in with an excuse, there was nothing wrong with either of them.

PineappleBanana · 15/05/2024 17:47

I was threatened with removal from an adult neurodivergent group for stating that men don’t have menstrual cycles.

TheSproutOfWrath · 15/05/2024 17:54

I got booted by a menopause group because I asked about weight gain on HRT.
I also got banned from a specific breed group for asking which area someone lived in.
And finally, a running group for pointing out Oscar Petoris is not a role model for young athletes.

Justcallmebebes · 15/05/2024 18:04

I was thrown out of an Egalitarian group within a week of joining for saying Russell Brand was a complete twat. This was not long before the sex scandal thing broke

RicePuddingWithCinnamon · 15/05/2024 18:07

I got booted from a slow cooking recipe group when I said that eggs cooked in a slow cooker must taste rubbery.

Looking back I have no regrets.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 15/05/2024 18:07

An Archers appreciation group, for rudeness about lady vicars.
This was a bit unfair as I was sort of quoting someone famous, possibly Emma Thompson.
She was asked what she thought of the appointment of lady bishops and said she hoped most women had better things to do with their time. 😁

Lost a number of very self-righteous and mostly American friends for being GC.

SuchGreatFun · 15/05/2024 18:11

A support group for a specific medical condition. I said that I was down about the outcome of a procedure, was told that I should count myself lucky as the “owner” of the group was much sicker than me. I wasn’t complaining, just feeling a bit low.

Pinkglitterblack · 15/05/2024 18:16

I was ejected from and SEN group because I suggested that perhaps in one case the parent's behaviour was to blame for the child's. The woman in question had a very agressive typing style. The warning prior to that was when I suggested that the tantrumming 17 year old should have been left at the train station.

TinselSniffer · 15/05/2024 18:17

I was banned without explanation from a wildlife gardening group after posting a picture of a nest box in my garden and asking if its placement was ok. I checked the rules and I've no idea what I did wrong . Fuck those wildlife gardening motherfuckers anyway 🖕🖕

Uricon2 · 15/05/2024 18:17

A group for those with an interest in Richard III. I said that although I completely understood the arguments for him being (re) buried at York, Leicester had done an excellent job with the funeral .

Banhammer. Those people are fierce!

Bluescissorsbluepen · 15/05/2024 18:18

A Scottish New York society, which I only joined at a members request to clarify if you needed a clan chiefs permission to wear their tartan, questions arose in a sewing group about how to pattern match tartan.

From WIWIKAU when I said could they possibly have a different group for parents who wanted to cry about their kids leaving to go to uni rather than finding out facts and advice about the process and time at uni.

PurpleChrayn · 15/05/2024 18:22

I was banned from Uninspiring Adverts on Facebook for calling someone out who took the piss out of Jeremy Beadle's hand!

Springingintolife · 15/05/2024 18:22

I don't know if you saw the Amazon or Netflix documentaries on twin flame universe with Jeff and Shaleia, but I was booted from their group for not wanting to sign up to their coaching programme and questioning the way they were treating some of the members who displayed critical thinking. I'd signed up to it thinking it was an innocent place to discuss the possibility of soul mates. I think the final boot came when they announced they were the second coming of Christ 'because where else would God reveal himself but on the internet, because everyone has internet' and I pointed out that at that time more people in the world didn't have internet than did.

InterrudelyUpted · 15/05/2024 18:24

These responses are brilliant 🤣

On the other side of the coin… I’m the admin for a Facebook group for an industry association ONLY for membership who are based in London. If you don’t live & work in London, there is literally no point in you joining the association let alone trying to become part of the Facebook group.

I have to reject many people each week who:
a) don’t actually work in the industry and
b) don’t live in London. Or even the UK. Or even Europe, come to think of it.

XenoBitch · 15/05/2024 18:25

I was ejected and blocked from the biggest FB group for my town.. for going on about mental health. One of the main admin runs a MH charity! His wife PMd me, telling me to kill myself.

And I was blocked from commented from the FB page for the local rag... fair enough... but 2 years later, they blocked me entirely, so I can't even see the page. It wasn't like I was causing trouble, as I could not even post.

I used to be in a FB group for mental health issues, and the admin wanted a weekly post from all members about why they needed to stay in the group. I rapidly left that one.

WittiestUsernameEver · 15/05/2024 18:26

A crochet group, for daring to suggest that the BLM campaign had nothing to do with crochet 🤷‍♀️

baubletits · 15/05/2024 18:29

😂😂

LongLostSock · 15/05/2024 18:34

An fb ASD group because I mentioned that the issue wasn't asd but half assed parenting.

If you're taking your kid to somewhere like softplay and you know it over stimulates them/they bite, push and hit out....be on top of them, don't sit at a table and wait for the complaints to roll in.

WetBandits · 15/05/2024 18:38

Banned from a Facebook group for owners of black cats because I shared a (cropped and anonymised) image that someone had posted of a HORRENDOUSLY dirty floor into a group about messy houses.

Someone from the cat group must’ve seen me post it and reported me, but they were also in the messy houses group FOR A REASON 🤨

LakeTiticaca · 15/05/2024 18:40

I got the boot from a group whose children were about to go to university . One woman was "broken and couldn't cope" when her darling boy went. She said it felt like a bereavement. I told her to give it a rest, her son has gone to uni, he's not dead!!
I received a nasty message then got kicked out 😁

suburburban · 15/05/2024 18:40

Gong grey gracefully

I grew out my grey but then had a few highlights and I said it was a good idea.

I was banned

caffelattetogo · 15/05/2024 18:42

I help run a niche facebook group, and its rules are made really clear (only relevant content, don't DM admins etc) and the number of people who think the rules don't apply to them is crazy.
