I was complaining to my neighbour that I had been denied access to a facebook group (fyi the bar for men is so low it’s a tavern in hades), she said she was once rejected for joining a bowl club facebook group….. the worst part is that she set up the bowls club in question and is currently their treasurer!! Can anyone beat that?

I got kicked out of a buying/selling group cos someone had seen my status update saying I supported JK Rowling!

I was ejected from a pregnancy group after mentioning that due to their genetics, some people cannot process folic acid and instead need to seek out a natural folate equivalent.

Completely true and my own lived experience, but apparently because NHS don't mention it then I had contravened rules and was banned.

My understanding is that’s completely true as well?! Even if it wasn’t then it’s hardly blasphemous and wild surely

I've told this story before. I got kicked out of a local selling group because someone posted asking if anyone had a child's organ for sale. I said I had a liver that would be suitable for a 9 year old.

Oh man, I love this post.

TruthorDie · 15/05/2024 21:59

I got thrown out of a Facebook fertility issues group as l said l didn’t want to adopt. But l don’t 🤷‍♀️The vitriol in the private messages l got sent before l was booted out were something else. Horses for courses. Wonder if they do the same thing to people who don’t want to do IVF?!

FionnulaTheCooler · 15/05/2024 22:00

I got booted from a local weather report page because the egotistical owner of the group didn't like the fact that someone called him out for speaking to his followers like shit (calling them dumbfucks for asking questions) and I liked the post that told him to knock it off.

randomusernam · 15/05/2024 22:02

I was kicked out a baby group because someone who is my friend on fb but I haven't seen in years got in an argument with other members of the group about cot bumpers

User2460177 · 15/05/2024 22:02

I was ejected from a single parents group because I said parents shouldn’t teach children that people can change sex.

MissusPotato · 15/05/2024 22:04

I got banned from the Can I Breastfeed in it offtopic group years back. They're all crackers OTT attachment parenting types in there so no great loss.

MissusPotato · 15/05/2024 22:06

OH and I got kicked out of a home ed group for pointing out that allowing your child to play Fortnite all day is not educating them.

allthelittleangelsriseupriseup · 15/05/2024 22:07

Like previous posters, I got booted from an American based breed specific dog group.
Lots of posts of dogs wearing awful prong collars.

I posted how the collars were banned in the UK and how they were cruel on a breed with thin skin and fine fur.

Got landed on by a load of members who all told me that the collars weren't cruel and didn't hurt.
Probably wasn't a good idea to tell them to try wrapping the collar round their cock and balls and pulling tight and then telling me it didn't hurt...

KohlaParasaurus · 15/05/2024 22:07

I applied to join the Let Women Speak group on FB and was rejected. I was a little bit sad about that, because if I was charged with being a GC Ultra I'd like to think there was enough evidence out there to convict me.

Ratatouille1 · 15/05/2024 22:08

I admin a Facebook group and I get complaints from people saying they have been rejected and its generally because they haven't answered the membership questions. I don't really care what their answers are just that they are a human and not a bot and they understand what the topic of the group is ( a strand of athletics ) before we tightened up the rules we would get hundreds of spam applications with copy and paste answers like I love this group very much. I was never sure what these endless stream of fake accounts where trying to achieve but it was a bloody pain deleting them all. I think sometimes a genuine membership request is lost in all the spam.

They do indeed, which is why I'm not in those groups anymore. I joined when we found out DH was infertile, but I was fine. We didn't go for ICSI and are now cracking on without kids but those groups are angry if you aren't selling your granny to pay for the 73rd round of IVF, because there's no such thing as choosing differently....

I'm still angry that the only solution to male infertility is to put the WOMAN through infertility treatment.

Anyway, back to much more funny stories! 😁

Oh and another one! I got booted from the Pet Vet Corner group (a pretty good group for advice from vets when you can’t access your own vet immediately) because I commented on a post to extend my condolences to someone who had updated her post to say that her dog had died.

I got booted because only vets were allowed to comment with advice, and I’d completely forgotten that but I didn’t comment with advice, just condolences! Straight up ban when just removing or indeed turning a blind eye to my comment would have sufficed 😬

I am in a few of these groups and they are super strict about only the experts commenting. And to be fair they do warn people on almost every thread! I think otherwise the responses could be overwhelming for the admins and they need to ensure that only correct advice is given. It can be frustrating though at times. In one such group they allow commenting (but not advice) after the "case" is closed which is a nice way to handle it.

Infertility is a very personal thing to navigate. No one size fits all. We ended up going down the IVF route but yeah it took a massive toll on me. Not helped by finding out my husband had issues -probably more than me but IVF clinics typically seem to assume it’s always the woman who has the issues

crockofshite · 15/05/2024 22:39

I haven't been banned from any Facebook groups (yet) but proud to report I've had a few messages deleted on this woke forum for pointing out that a h8iry ar5ed bl0k3 in a fr0ck isn't a lay dee 🙃

I got thrown out of my local fb group when someone posted that they “urgently” required a new fridge freezer as the light wasn’t working when the opened the door!
I did explain it was only the bulb, and she could purchase one and the fridge was fine.
She having any of it though, saying if the light didn’t work the fridge wasn’t working and was getting abusive.
i couldn’t help myself
I then posted saying I needed a new house urgently as the light in the living room wasn’t working when I opened the front door.

I got booted out….

🤣🤣

A crochet group, for daring to suggest that the BLM campaign had nothing to do with crochet 🤷‍♀️

I had the same from a knitting group and if you weren’t actively showing you were buying patterns from women of colour you were racist.

A facebook group about reactive dogs. Turns out the American administrator was a supporter of physical corrective measures and when I told her exactly what I thought of a video she’d posted of an US ‘trainer’ whacking dogs with a rolled up towel she banned me before I could leave.

That was the ‘bonk’ video. Yes, let’s all bonk our dogs on the head with a rolled up towel. There was a group set up to stop that particular trainer holding ‘training’ seminars in Scotland, we succeeded 😉

I have also been banned from Netmums over McCain frozen baked potatoes. #potatogate. They never forgave me for not baking my own and freezing them (even although it was cheaper to buy already frozen ones) for some weird reason. I admit I did get into an argument with a few users of that site over the McCain frozen potatoes, the hashtag ended my time there. 😂

RawCarrotsAndSaladcream · 15/05/2024 23:07

NC for this. Someone in my local community Facebook group complained that the glass-fronted picture of a family member nailed to a tree had been vandalised again. They were maintaining a shrine in the woods by a specific tree and had lots of memorabilia there. I suggested it probably wasn't his happiest moment, the right place, and perhaps they should find a spot with happier memories like the family home where his photo wouldn't get vandalised ....

dizzydizzydizzy · 15/05/2024 23:12

Not so far been thrown out of a group but have been unfriended by a couple of people because they didn't like my views . The two people are both Americans (I'm British). They are anti vaxxers, pro life , pro animal rights and absolutely love Trump:

Kicked out of a local town news group because I blocked the admin. They kept posting town updates as their dog and it was so annoying. "The hooman is taken me walkies and for sausages! Yummy!" Absolute boke.

Pretending you are an animal or a baby should be a blockable offense on every forum in the world.

I have this too, I had to go to a private clinic to find this out. Their reaction to facts was batshit.

I got banned from an allegedly evidence based breastfeeding support group because I asked for supporting evidence for someone's claims about the dangers of microwave ovens.
