I was complaining to my neighbour that I had been denied access to a facebook group (fyi the bar for men is so low it’s a tavern in hades), she said she was once rejected for joining a bowl club facebook group….. the worst part is that she set up the bowls club in question and is currently their treasurer!! Can anyone beat that?

I was banned without explanation from a wildlife gardening group after posting a picture of a nest box in my garden and asking if its placement was ok. I checked the rules and I've no idea what I did wrong . Fuck those wildlife gardening motherfuckers anyway 🖕🖕

I laughed out loud at this, it’s the ‘fuck those wildlife gardening morherfuckers’ that set me off. I was reading it aloud (to myself, 2 young kids one a newborn and my heads not all there) and I fully laughed out loud and startled my baby. You have a way with words. Made my day!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 15/05/2024 18:51

I've never been banned even though I can be a bit of a dick. Must try harder :)

AStrawberryTart · 15/05/2024 18:51

One of the NC500 groups. Someone posted a photo of their campervan on our private land and told over 5000 members it was free to wild camp there. I was banned for posting the Scottish law on wild camping and a video of him emptying his chemical toilet in the loch (as well as his reaction to me when I politely asked him to stop). He really wasn’t a happy camper and he was Admin of the group.

reallifeboogie · 15/05/2024 18:54

I was removed from an ADHD Women UK group because I said "morning ladies". My post was deleted and I was told the group was inclusive of all genders. I responded that its says adhd for women and was then told its for women who identify as other genders and people who identify as women too. I was then removed from the group.

CornishPorsche · 15/05/2024 18:55

I got banned from the local Gossip Girls page for pointing out a woman whining she wasn't allowed to take her dog into the local butchers was being an idiot.

Her dog had also peed up the counter before they even asked her to take it out which was much more leeway than I would have given her!

About a month later the group was closed down by Facebook - apparently for racism (although I'd not seen that on there before). How I laughed at the sad admins who popped up complaining about it on the other local page 😂

Bornnotbourne · 15/05/2024 19:12

These are really cheering me up, I was in tears earlier. Ridiculous I know but in combination with some pressures at work and medically induced menopause I was feeling a bit sensitive! Anyway fuck those wildlife gardening motherfuckers

I've never been banned from fb or any other forum, but I was kicked out of the Girl Guides for standing up to my bully.

Apparently I should have turned the other cheek....

Hotgirlwinter · 15/05/2024 19:58

Wasn’t in the group but got banned from a business page for a man (use that loosely) who teaches people (as in charges them a lot of money) how to breed dogs for commercial purposes.

I think I trolled the page a lot - quite rightly as he and his business are abhorrent. Would happily do it daily if I had the time

WhereIsMyLight · 15/05/2024 20:07

I wanted to join a crochet planned pooling group and my responses to why I wanted to do planned pooling (because I wanted to make a blanket) weren’t good enough to even be given entry. They’ve now blocked me and I can’t find the group at all. This is what planned pooling looks like.

I left that group because it was vile. Some of the posts/replies were ridiculous and people were allowed to pile on others (and be quite nasty) for expressing a polite difference of opinion. Although that was seemingly ok behaviour, they had a list as long as your arm of topics that required a trigger warning including "food" and other innocuous subjects. Honestly I don't know how people get through their day if they have to be warned about perfectly normal topics of conversation (and I say that as someone with various anxiety disorders). Then they went all gender woo after the original person/people who set it up got piled on a few times, and there were numerous mass flouncing episodes where the admin was berated for a group for women not being more "inclusive". They've since banned the type of address you describe and instead you have to say "hey all" or "hi everyone". Despite still retaining the word "woman" in the group's title. Both hypocritical and ridiculous. If you want a group open to "women and transgender" people (as it says in the description), name your group accordingly. Fucking toxic.

@WhereIsMyLight that is beautiful!

I was ejected from a pregnancy group after mentioning that due to their genetics, some people cannot process folic acid and instead need to seek out a natural folate equivalent.

Completely true and my own lived experience, but apparently because NHS don't mention it then I had contravened rules and was banned.

needsomeadvice22 · 15/05/2024 20:23

I was kicked out of a pregnancy group as I was pregnant with triplets and they thought I had made the whole thing up. Apparently I Photoshopped my scans & midwife paperwork the whole lot. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wrongsideofpennines · 15/05/2024 20:26

Banned from a TV programme group for asking why comments were always turned off so nobody could discuss anything apart from admin. I pointed out that there wasn't much point in the group existing if nobody could say anything.

Hoppinggreen · 15/05/2024 20:26

A dog rescue group who wanted suggestions for a name for a lovely black dog they were bringing in from Spain - I suggested the Spanish word for black (f).
I genuinely didn't get it until DD pointed it out

Spirallingdownwards · 15/05/2024 20:27

Some of these are hilarious and there is always that WTF moment when you discover you have been blocked.

IGoWalkingAfterMidnight · 15/05/2024 20:31

I’ve been banned from Popsy Frocks & Friends - I still don’t know why 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I haven’t bought another dress since…good for my bank balance anyway!

weegiemum · 15/05/2024 20:31

A gentle parenting group.

Because I had the audacity to vaccinate my children!

SnoqualmieRiver · 15/05/2024 20:32

A Mumsnet make up and beauty Facebook group years ago that were encouraging their sons to be girls and got the right hump when I laughed about a post one of them made with them drooling over some twat who wanted to be a genderless alien!

A bizarre bunch of women to say the least.

Oh and their make up skills were dire.

Biscofffiend · 15/05/2024 20:35

A baby led weaning group for telling a worried mum spoon feeding her baby a few mouthfuls now and again wouldn't harm them. I think admitting I sometimes spoon fed my own children yoghurt was the nail in the coffin.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 15/05/2024 20:35

This thread is unreal 😂 Some serious wanker groups out there.

From WIWIKAU when I said could they possibly have a different group for parents who wanted to cry about their kids leaving to go to uni rather than finding out facts and advice about the process and time at uni.

Edited

I wish I'd stayed now! I left years ago because I couldn't vibe with it.

WetBandits · 15/05/2024 20:41

Oh and another one! I got booted from the Pet Vet Corner group (a pretty good group for advice from vets when you can’t access your own vet immediately) because I commented on a post to extend my condolences to someone who had updated her post to say that her dog had died.

I got booted because only vets were allowed to comment with advice, and I’d completely forgotten that but I didn’t comment with advice, just condolences! Straight up ban when just removing or indeed turning a blind eye to my comment would have sufficed 😬

I got banned from them briefly then let back in.

I was ejected from a local Facebook group that was a local mum's group. I had commented about Halloween vs Guy Fawkes night. Where we are based Guy Fawkes is much more important culturally than Halloween.(Either an American import or Americans celebrating). I was thrown off the site overnight. I didn't worry too much about it until the Xmas hols when I looked again. I had not only been thrown off but I had been blocked. But the admin and I were still Facebook friends!! I still belong to the other local mums Facebook group and haven't missed the drama at all. I'm not the only person to have been thrown off. The admin, although clearly very intelligent, just doesn't have enough to do in real life.
