Is once a month sufficient? Family of 3. Loo is cleaned weekly.

Weekly as a minimum.

TheSnowyOwl · 07/05/2024 19:53

We have three and they are cleaned weekly (or less) for family of five.

DappledOliveGroves · 07/05/2024 19:53

Cleaner cleans it fully once a week. I then clean loo as needed and sink once or twice in the intervening period.

BondStreet · 07/05/2024 19:54

Daily: scrubbing sink, wash out bath/shower and bleach toilet
weekly: Mop floor and scrub toilet

Diversion · 07/05/2024 19:55

Two of us here. Bathroom is cleaned weekly as a minimum, basin often gets wiped over in between. Toilet is cleaned about three times a week and always before and after we have had visitors (and before we get any work people or shopping deliveries).

TheShellBeach · 07/05/2024 19:56

We clean the lavatory and sink every day, the surfaces weekly.

The floor gets mopped three times a week.

Lemonademoney · 07/05/2024 19:56

At least every week! Wipe down if any soap/toothpaste marks. Loo is bleached a few times a week.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 07/05/2024 19:58

At least weekly, it would be horrible otherwise.

shellyleppard · 07/05/2024 19:58

At least twice here (family of three,) lots of soap scum in bottom of shower 🤢😂

Thingamebobwotsit · 07/05/2024 19:58

Weekly for full clean, unless guests coming and then clean before they arrive. Mid week wipe down and freshen up. Shower washed out every time, bleach down loo two to three times a week.

bakewellbride · 07/05/2024 20:00

A full proper clean once every 3 weeks.

A quick clean so it doesn't get too bad in that time is done twice a week.

Ideally I'd do a full clean once a week but it's hard with young children so this is the way it is for now.

FatAndFiftySomething · 07/05/2024 20:08

Intrigued by everyone chucking bleach down the loo. What for? Under the rim? In the bowl?

KingOfPoundbury · 07/05/2024 20:08

Our toilet recepticles are cleaned hourly, on the hour. At least that is my standing instruction. Of course I carry my personal toilet seat with me (as is well known) at all times and a large bottle of Milton Spray. (might give them Royal Warrant one day).
So I do have some sort of 'buffer' from the world as 'You Lot' know it. 🦁🦄

mynamechangemyrules · 07/05/2024 20:09

Why all the bleach? Curious!

I do 'swish round' cleans every day (rest of my house is a tip but bathrooms need to be clean), deep clean every week. Terrible limescale area so couldn't leave it longer than a week without attacking it.

I use a limescale removing toilet gel which goes in overnight Friday for a 'soak' and wondering what I'm missing on the bleach front? I thought it was really polluting and also I hate the smell but what do people think it's doing in their toilet that I'm missing?

Under the rim. To clean the toilet

Deadringer · 07/05/2024 20:10

I clean the sink and toilet twice a week, I only do the shower and bath every now and again when I think of it.

BlueSlate0 · 07/05/2024 20:11

Urgh, once a week - thorough toilet clean, sink clean, general tidy and empty bin. Bloody hate doing it. I’m a bare minimum cleaner. Love how it looks/smells when it’s done though.

The bath and tiles? Months and months between cleans. It’s not scuzzy or mouldy though. But I’m sure I should do it more. We don’t have a glass screen or anything, just a curtain.

Enko · 07/05/2024 20:11

Weekly and in-between if needed

NeedToBeStrongStepAway · 07/05/2024 20:11

Spray and wipe each evening. Proper tap clean etc weekly.

It's tiled 3/4 and its always wet and horrible even with windows open. So also have to karcher it after showers. If we don't we get mould badly

ManonDe · 07/05/2024 20:12

3 bathrooms/ toilets. Cleaner cleans once per week. i clean once every weekend and obviously if it looks dirty then it's cleaned again.

But a quick wipeover can be done easily daily if need be?

crumbpet · 07/05/2024 20:13

Thanks

I'm intrigued to know why you need the toilet to be cleaned before shopping deliveries - I've never had a delivery driver ask to use the loo.

Round the rim, leave it to sit a while, then flush. It cleans the inside of the bowl and makes the water all bubbly. Kills the germs. An essential part of toilet cleaning for me.

I also use those blue/purple blocks in the cistern, I think they slow release bleach over the week.

ManonDe · 07/05/2024 20:15

I love those blue toilet thingies. DH hates them though as he is super sensitive to fake smells so I only use if he is away for work or something.

Glowlearn · 07/05/2024 20:17

I clean the shower when I'm in it, and swish round the sink and the loo daily. Takes seconds if you don't let it ever get dirty. I wish I'd known this when the kids were small! I mop the floors with the towels that are due to be washed. Rarely use chemicals, just a bit of soap and water.
