Low calorie satisfying sweet treats

I am an absolute chocolate and sugar fiend. I'm trying to keep it in check but I've accepted that quitting sugar altogether isn't happening for me right now.

At the end of the day I need something sweet! Something that isn't a share bag of peanut m&ms for example.

I like a couple of chocolate covered rice cakes (that's still 164 calories ffs!!!) or a couple of Abernethy biscuits (only slightly better calorie-wise). Also love a large handful of marshmallows.

What are your calorie-conscious treats if you have a raging sweet tooth?

Ice pops, pop corn, fruit or jelly are good low calorie treats!

Meringue

Doje · 03/05/2024 20:01

I've been doing slimming world recently and have lived off the sugar free jelly pots and meringue nests. Sometimes just Greek yoghurt, honey and (frozen, defrosted) raspberries will be enough, but other days I ramp it up and crumble a meringue nest on top to make it a healthy version of Eton Mess.

Bonjovispjs · 03/05/2024 20:02

Skinny bars, especially the mint ones 😋 Unfortunately I rarely stop at one 🤦🏻‍♀️

BigWillyLittleTodger · 03/05/2024 20:02

These trifle sponge fingers are a nice low cal replacement for biscuits only 25 calories each.

Oh wow, these are a blast from the blast! Under another name I'm sure but I swear something very like this existed when I was a kid

Kitkats in every flavour - dark chocolate, dark mint, white chocolate. 110 cals.

Lilacdew · 03/05/2024 20:12

You could try Fibre 1 brownies which are 90 cals each and have that satisfying chewiness.

Curlywurlys only have 97 calories.

Mini milk ice cream lollies (some are chocolate flavour) are only 30 cals each.

Most supermarket chocolate mousses are around 90 cals. You can freeze them so they are chewier and slower to eat.

Ime, it's better to have a chocolate treat of around 100 cals than eating something 'healthier' that doesn't hit the spot as the craving is still there and that can lead to over eating stuff you don't even want.

VivaVivaa · 03/05/2024 20:15

Blueberries topped with Greek yoghurt, granola, grated chocolate and lashings of honey. I’m off to make it now when these wretched kids go to sleep.

Halo top gooey brownie ice cream sticks less than 100 calories each, seriously chocolatey, don't just chomp it in 4 bites though, treat it as you would an ice cream cone.
Also aero or wispa mousse pots about 85-90 calories each , eat with a teaspoon to prolong!

I made banana flapjack type things the other day - 2 mashed over ripe bananas, 1 mug oats, 2 spoons chia/flax seeds, chocolate chips, 1 small egg. Mix it all, dollop it out onto baking sheet and bung in the oven for 20ish mins at 180. I didn't work out the calories but it's sweet and reasonably healthy for the hit.

upinclouds · 03/05/2024 20:18

Fresh pineapple?

If I want something resembling a pudding I like chopped banana with a lindahl salted caramel protein pudding...it's almost banoffee pie 😂

RenoDakota · 03/05/2024 20:19

Mini Twisters (under 40 calories)
Options hot chocolate (40 calories if you stick to the suggested amount).
Both very satisfying.

Weepingwillows12 · 03/05/2024 20:21

Choc ice maybe

These look really good. I'll keep an eye out for them

Not chocolatey but I’ve developed a bit of a yen for 0% fat Greek yoghurt with a swirl of posh lemon curd. When I say posh I mean Tesco or Lidl posh. Lush and filling.
By all means use full fat yoghurt - I just can’t taste the difference.

GreatGateauxsby · 03/05/2024 20:24

Halo and oppo ice creams

Special shout out to the peanut butter one.

380 cals per tub i get 4-8 servings depending

Am805463 · 03/05/2024 20:26

Party Rings are about 28 calories.

DasAlteLeid · 03/05/2024 20:27

A whole box of ferrero rocher in front of the telly with a big milky coffee to wash it down with 🤣 come on, we were all thinking it 🤣 praying for the day a two finger Kit Kat fills the hole instead 🙏🏼

Strawberry slimfast bars are good, they're like rice crispy squares in texture so chewy, sticky, Crispy with a strawberry flavour and coated in chocolate.

The texture helps for me because it needs chewing so feels like I'm properly eating something and it's sweet and chocolatey. If you aren't keen on strawberry they do a double chocolate flavour which is good too.
