That's it. Searched the Internet, no luck.

@quantumbutterfly could you let me know how to get in touch with him please?

Do you mean one man and his wolf? There's a queue...

Leave out a saucer of his favourite food and a jumper with your scent on it.

😂😂😂 Oh God this really tickled me.

Do they still have a place in St John's Wood? My friend's flat just about overlooked their garden. I could ask her to paper aeroplane in a letter if you like?

Tricky to get the aim right with prevailing wind conditions and that but Audentes Fortuna Iuvat and all that

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/05/2024 09:10

Have you tried looking in phone boxes?

I love that story!

I'm from Australia and years back a student of mine was very deeply involved in Young Labor. She told me that she once received a letter that was addressed to 'Kate, Future Prime Minister of Australia [town] '.

Brilliant! Dispiriting for all the other Kates in the town to be discounted from consideration, though!

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g I'd have more faith in the post office if they hadn't lost my old passport...or at least that's who the passport office blamed.

Now the US postal service managed to find me in the absolute middle of nowhere USA with just my name and a vague first line of address, that was slightly scary.

We could ask them to find John Major, or the RCMP they always get their man.

Your passport was probably properly addressed. That makes it too boring to receive proper attention.

Have you been watching The Crown OP? I think it may be Jonny Lee Miller you really want to get hold of.

SpringLamby · 02/05/2024 17:42

Have you tried singing 'ground control to Major, John' really loudly?

Brilliant.

HerkyBaby · 03/05/2024 09:48

Just write to him c/o The House of Commons. It will get to the desired destination very quickly

Bouledeneige · 03/05/2024 10:00

John Major is no longer an MP

viques · 03/05/2024 10:11

I don’t think even Major can help you now Rishi, you are on your own babes, unless you know a spiritualist who can contact Margaret………….

Isthisreasonable · 03/05/2024 10:13
  1. Frozen peas aisle of his local supermarket
  2. Prince Harry - Major was his guardian and is happy to divulge private information

I just shout out the front door. If he doesn't come straight away, I just shout a bit louder.

Edited

Not sure I've ever laughed harder at a comment on mumsnet than this....

Kendodd · 03/05/2024 10:25

Thank you for all the replies and possible leads. I'll let you know if I'm successful Smile

Many years ago I was on a course at a hotel and he was staying at said hotel I’ll give them a call and see if they have his details on record still
I’m sure they’ll give them to me as he spoke to me as I got in the lift

IvorTheEngineDriver · 03/05/2024 10:36

Mate of mine knows him. On Lambeth Council together.

Find the person in your life most likely to know John Major, write a letter and give it to them and ask them to pass it on to the person they know who's most likely to know John Major and so on. It'll get to him within the month.

Loving this thread!

If I used this method I think I could get it to him within a day via probably 2 people. I'm not particularly well connected but now wondering how many famous people I could reach via people I know.

He likes cricket, maybe try hanging out at the Oval that's where I last saw him

I have enormous confidence in the Royal Mail. If you posted a letter addressed to 'John Major, used to be Prime Minister' it would get to him pretty quickly, I should think, as long as you put a stamp on it.

I once started writing a postcard to my Grandma - wrote the message, put on the stamp, but got distracted part way through writing the address and didn't notice. I put it in the postbox, and forgot about it. Weeks later my Grandma reported that she had received my postcard. All I'd written was:

Mrs G. W0nderD0g
Saint Ronan's House

Saint Ronan's House was a nursing home, but it could have been anything, though I suppose the message starting Dear Grandma might have helped narrow it down. The indefatigable staff of the Royal Mail had taken on the challenge with gusto. There were notes all over the card on the lines of 'Try Stirling' and 'Not Stirling, try Dumfries'. I was incredibly impressed that they did find the right one in the end.

One of us should actually do this and see if we get a reply

I know his address as Norma bought a book from me a while ago. I'm not sharing it though.

I am laughing out loud at this in the doctors waiting room. I don't even know why Grin

This is the best 6 pages I’ve read on MN for a long time. Bravo!

My tuppence is quite simple, find the tallest mountain/Hill in your area, climb it and use a megaphone to shout.

There aren't any hills in Huuntingdonshire.

blackcherryconserve · 03/05/2024 11:56

But WHY do you want to talk to John Major???
