That's it. Searched the Internet, no luck.

Why do you wish to talk to him? And think he’d talk to you as he’s nice?

Cattyisbatty · 03/05/2024 07:26

Do you want to pass him some peas?

This. Seven degrees of separation. It worked on a TV prog several years ago.

Is it seven now? It was only six in my day. (insert old gimmer emoticon here)

Mumsnet is so big there are several people on here that claim to know John Major so that's even less. Mumsnet now defines the degrees of separation!

Anyway, back to Sam Heughan. He'd make a marvellous Carrot Ironfounderson.

Are you Tory Party HQ desperately scraping the bottom of the barrel for a leader?

😂Careful now they'll be knocking on your door with a short straw.

Send a direct message to Piglet John. Just in case it’s him.

I'd love it if PigletJohn turned out to be John Major!

Thought you was a hard left winger OP? Why you be bothering old-timer John Major?

SevenSeasOfRhye · 03/05/2024 07:33

I'd try writing to the Conservative party HQ and asking them to forward it - he must still be a member.

Piglet John is a legend. Insomniac me read some top tips on plumbing from him in the wee small hours today.

If you tie a pair of grey underpants to a stick and attach it to an upstairs window, then shout "Victorian Values" three times, he will appear.

Minniliscious · 03/05/2024 07:40

This is Martha. She wants to add him to her contacts alongside Nick Clegg, David Cameron and Tony Blair.

Neolara · 03/05/2024 07:44

Off topic, but JM did a fascinating interview with Roy Stewart and Alistair Campbell on their Leading podcast (off shoot of Rest is Politics). I thought he came across very well indeed - much more dynamic and determined than he was ever portrayed in the press at the time. And I say that as someone who would rather stick pins in my eye than vote Tory.

Have you tried singing 'ground control to Major, John' really loudly?

😆😆😆

Delawear · 03/05/2024 08:05

Does anyone know how to get hold of Dwaine The Rock Johnson? Asking for a friend.

If you find John Major he'll be able to help

Lwrenn · 03/05/2024 08:19

@SpringLamby absolutely tremendous!

@Kendodd good luck with your quest!

JohnMajor · 03/05/2024 08:24

I know how to contact The Rock but I'm not sharing, it's classified information.

AppleKatie · 03/05/2024 08:39

This is the best 6 pages I’ve read on MN for a long time. Bravo!

My tuppence is quite simple, find the tallest mountain/Hill in your area, climb it and use a megaphone to shout.

I have enormous confidence in the Royal Mail. If you posted a letter addressed to 'John Major, used to be Prime Minister' it would get to him pretty quickly, I should think, as long as you put a stamp on it.

I once started writing a postcard to my Grandma - wrote the message, put on the stamp, but got distracted part way through writing the address and didn't notice. I put it in the postbox, and forgot about it. Weeks later my Grandma reported that she had received my postcard. All I'd written was:

Mrs G. W0nderD0g
Saint Ronan's House

Saint Ronan's House was a nursing home, but it could have been anything, though I suppose the message starting Dear Grandma might have helped narrow it down. The indefatigable staff of the Royal Mail had taken on the challenge with gusto. There were notes all over the card on the lines of 'Try Stirling' and 'Not Stirling, try Dumfries'. I was incredibly impressed that they did find the right one in the end.

quantumbutterfly · 03/05/2024 08:55

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g I'd have more faith in the post office if they hadn't lost my old passport...or at least that's who the passport office blamed.

Now the US postal service managed to find me in the absolute middle of nowhere USA with just my name and a vague first line of address, that was slightly scary.

We could ask them to find John Major, or the RCMP they always get their man.

I love that story!

I'm from Australia and years back a student of mine was very deeply involved in Young Labor. She told me that she once received a letter that was addressed to 'Kate, Future Prime Minister of Australia [town] '.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/05/2024 08:59

@quantumbutterfly could you let me know how to get in touch with him please?
