Making a new 70s playlist for Spotify, but lacking inspiration. If I Google best songs from the 70s I just get lots of good big hits, which are not always, y’know, good music.

So far I have some Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Jam, The Police, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mac, The Jacksons, Siouxsie, The Clash and others.
looking for good songs of all genres, forgotten gemsâ€Ļ even cheesy pop if it’s good.

What are your 70s favourites? 🙂

A lot of (well-deserved) love for Steely Dan on this thread.

A friend of mine who is a massive Steely Dan fan turned 60 during one of the lockdowns, so I bought him a face mask printed with a Steely Dan album cover

Absolutely!

I was born in 70s but grew up listening to Steely Dan and others through my parents music tastes. I think Aja is in my top 10 albums still.

OP, I made a My 70s' playlist on spotify that has many of those mentioned here plus many more. Happy to share if there is a way (no idea personally as have only ever used to play music)

suburburban · 30/04/2024 20:27

I also love the late 70s new wave like the Jam, Skids, Boomtown Rats

You will be able to share it, but be careful as it will probably have your name on it too. I know we are amongst friends, but don't inadvertently give private details.
