Ineedaholidayyyy · 28/04/2024 21:58

I loathe "can I pick your brains"

Cattenberg · 28/04/2024 22:02

TigerRag · 28/04/2024 17:10

Dropped, as in a new album has dropped

I agree. It makes whatever it’s referring to sound like a dropping 💩. I wonder where this phrase came from?

I learnt about “the ick” on here and I do find the concept useful. It happened to me once and there was no coming back from it.

Those who can’t stand hubby/hubster/hubs would love working with my colleague - she has a “hublet” 😁

Double down (what on earth does it mean?)
I'm not being funny but (yes you are)
X sleeps until (ok for a child but ridiculous when adults say it)
We are pregnant ( no we aren't the woman is!)

Erm, you do realise that men can be pregnant, right? That's outdated thinking - we need to be educating of ourselves, not perpetuating outdated stereotypes.

SmallestInTheClass · 28/04/2024 22:04

Picky tea. I can only think of spots and noses when someone mentions picking.

VenetiaHallisWellPosh · 28/04/2024 22:08

"Shipping" a new couple, "will this ship sail?".

AmyDubanowski · 28/04/2024 22:11

“Think” E.g “my sister’s party was extravagant, think balloon arch and champagne fountain”

JaninaDuszejko · 28/04/2024 22:11

Get go

Surely 'it is what it is' is just a resigned statement acknowledging you're in a shit situation that you can't change and have to deal with. What else would you say? Something cheery and upbeat you don't feel?

Oblomov24 · 28/04/2024 22:11

Chick
Holibobs

Corporate speak generally.

MaltipooMama · 28/04/2024 22:12

I was only saying to my partner two days ago how much I hate the phrase "choccy milk"! Also I hate "red sauce" for ketchup. I also didn't realise how much I hate "holibobs" until I saw it written on this thread 😂

DrJoanAllenby · 28/04/2024 22:16

eileandubh · 28/04/2024 22:17

'Educate yourself'
'This speaks to...'
Problematic
To reach out (unless trapeze artist or member of Four Tops)

CharliesAngles · 28/04/2024 22:20

@whatsinanameeh what on earth is Platty Jubes? 😂

@Cattenberg

“Those who can’t stand hubby/hubster/hubs would love working with my colleague - she has a “hublet” 😁”

Ravenclawhouse · 28/04/2024 22:21

thebear1 · 28/04/2024 22:23

Run don't walk. Hate it, especially when it's over something ridiculous like 5p off beans at Tesco.

Motherrr · 28/04/2024 22:28

Let's touch base...

Cattenberg · 28/04/2024 22:30

Platty Jubes was the Platinum Jubilee. So much has happened since that it feels like it was a long time ago. But I just looked it up and it was in 2022.

Elsewhere123 · 28/04/2024 22:32

CrushingOnRubies · 28/04/2024 22:44

You do you!

Both supportive and patronising at the same time

CharliesAngles · 28/04/2024 22:48
