I agree. It makes whatever it’s referring to sound like a dropping 💩. I wonder where this phrase came from?

I learnt about “the ick” on here and I do find the concept useful. It happened to me once and there was no coming back from it.

Erm, you do realise that men can be pregnant, right? That's outdated thinking - we need to be educating of ourselves, not perpetuating outdated stereotypes.

Surely 'it is what it is' is just a resigned statement acknowledging you're in a shit situation that you can't change and have to deal with. What else would you say? Something cheery and upbeat you don't feel?
