BlackCat007 · 29/04/2024 14:12

Oh yes “this one” to refer to some mate or sap of a bloke.

Cupboard - it's a press

Naughty - use bold, naughty is sexual

Got - when people mean gotten

Aitch - stop dropping your haitches

May I have - very old-fashioned and overly formal, can I get is the standard

You - yous or ye are so much clearer when you're using the plural.

Wink

lol
100% disagree on all of this!

Flyhigher · 29/04/2024 15:52

Reaching out I hate. Why though?

Flyhigher · 29/04/2024 15:57

muddyford · 28/04/2024 17:05

Passed instead of died. Passed what? Large turd? Driving test? Signpost?

Making memories. Just cringe. And more cringe.

Reaching out. What's wrong with contacting?

When your dad dies. It's very very hard to use that word. So try not to judge. People are trying to look after their own mental health by using those words.

Also- if you ever seen someone die really peacefully you will know that it is like a passing.

Passing over into a new state.

Double down (what on earth does it mean?)
I'm not being funny but (yes you are)
X sleeps until (ok for a child but ridiculous when adults say it)
We are pregnant ( no we aren't the woman is!)

Double down is accurate and horrible.
It's what the tories do all the time.
You just get very aggressive to do as you please.
You get called out on something. You then react aggressively doubling down.

RenoDakota · 29/04/2024 16:11

Any reply to anything that starts with the passive aggressive 'erm...' As if the poster thinks they are stating the bleeding obvious and anyone thinking otherwise is an idiot.

TellerTuesday · 29/04/2024 16:26

Anything involving 'core memories' double twats points if said 'core memories' have been 'locked in' or 'banked'

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/04/2024 16:29

Librarybooker · 28/04/2024 22:58

‘Pattie/patty’ for burger - always makes me think of a cowpat

‘Excited for’ - an Americanism too far

’Nasties’ and ‘ick’ - infantile expressions. Also there’s a crappy tv ad for a company that sells pillows. They list reasons to buy new one including ‘May be full of nasties’ - er no, they just neeeed to sell you pillows

Could easily be swarming with dust mites and their poo!

But even if they are, all you need to do is give them a good machine wash, and tumble dry hot. That will sort the little buggers out.

SharpWriter · 29/04/2024 16:34

At the end of the day...

Grrr. At the end of the day, it gets dark. That's it.

Misorchid · 29/04/2024 16:34

Sick (but meaning good)
Admin (your own meaningless post)
Din dins
Obsessed
#lovemylife
You guys

Andipxs · 29/04/2024 16:36

”deep dive” into some or other topic…absolutely painful

SharpWriter · 29/04/2024 16:42

'Like' or 'I was like'

Where did this even come from? So irritating

Words · 29/04/2024 17:07

Reaching out
I'm excited to... when all they mean is they are mildly interested
Space, meaning area of interest or concern

Words · 29/04/2024 17:09

Oh yes.

Thick as mince.

Revolting

Words · 29/04/2024 17:13

Any euphemism for dying.

eileandubh · 29/04/2024 17:16

and 'calling out'. Now deployed on national news broadcasts to make any international politician making a critical statement about controversial policy sound like Milly from Year 8 having a go at her bestie's boyfriend.

TigerRag · 29/04/2024 17:23

"this programme contains things that may disturb some viewers"

Given the title / description I know that!

FortunataTagnips · 29/04/2024 17:24

Ooh, I loathe “calling out”. It makes some stupid celebrity spat sound as if duelling pistols and seconds are involved (which, sadly, they’re not).

😂😂👏🏼👏🏼

How do you feel about “jay” (J) when it’s supposed to be “jai”?
🧐

Ineedaholidayyyy · 29/04/2024 17:36

eileandubh · 28/04/2024 22:17

'Educate yourself'
'This speaks to...'
Problematic
To reach out (unless trapeze artist or member of Four Tops)

OMG yes I hate "Educate yourself".

I often see it being used as a way of trying to shut down an argument , by someone who isn't very educated.

I'm all for it!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/04/2024 17:47

‘Birthing’ - you don’t.
You give birth.

I'm all for it!

Misread and can't edit - I'm all for both!

AgnesX · 29/04/2024 17:53

Today, bro/bruh and mate..... a bunch of guys in my office today.

" I hear you bro". "Yeah, mate".... FFS you're a bunch of 30 somethings in an office not a bunch of wannabe rappers on the street.

,🙄

LMMuffet · 29/04/2024 17:54

Hubby. It’s just awful, childish language and I immediately write off anyone who says it!
