Do the owners just like books or is this an attempt at a Tracey Emin unmade bed art installation look with random books piled up instead.

It's a lovely house but someone needs to explain to their interior designer how bookshelves work.

FortunataTagnips · 26/04/2024 09:55

Clearly owned by a super-rich art collector. It’s NW3, so technically Hampstead, but it’s in that in-between bit of Swiss Cottage between Hampstead and SJW.

What on earth is 'grand volumes' 😁

Another description for its got plenty of space?

That’s a lot of expensive Art in there!
I love it but if I had £22 million to spend I reckon I could find better. Fortunately that’s not a problem I have today.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/04/2024 10:00

That's disrespectful to the books. Using them as an art feature. They don't want to be an art feature. They want to be ready. They should unionise.

Shetlands · 26/04/2024 10:02

Lovely house - decor not my style but I could easily change that. Book piles are ridiculous. I can't imagine the kind of life you'd have if you have over £22 million to spend on a house! I bet it's not their only house...

Thatwouldbeme · 26/04/2024 10:07

I love both those houses, just need to find one in a warm climate then I'm done buying for this year 🤣I wish😭

NigelHarmansNewWife · 26/04/2024 10:08

The books are probably an art installation. Has anyone else clocked the subject matter of the photo montage in photos 9 and 14?

I did. Bit dodgy!

flatwhiteinabucket · 26/04/2024 10:10

@NigelHarmansNewWife 😂

Toddlerteaplease · 26/04/2024 10:16

Love it. Not sure about the bath right next to the wardrobe though. Clothes would smell damp.

maudelovesharold · 26/04/2024 10:16

I’d love that house, but I can see the £22,500,000 being a slight impediment….

RespiceFinemKarma · 26/04/2024 10:19

I'm sure it's been mentioned already but that bookshelf is giving me anxiety. Why?

BlackCat007 · 26/04/2024 10:21

The coffee table! All the dust that would gather! 😱

theDudesmummy · 26/04/2024 10:22

The reason I said "not in Hampstead" in that slightly snidy way is because that is what people who live in "Hampstead Hampstead" would say about people who live in other parts of NW3!

DrJoanAllenby · 26/04/2024 10:23

The coffee table is a dust gathering eyesore.

Video here

Suspect if you can afford a 22m house you aren’t doing your own dusting,,,,😂

Tiny garden for size of house but do they all share that green space in the middle?

Singleandproud · 26/04/2024 10:27

That amount of money on one house is obscene, although better than a flat in Belgravia I suppose

The only place near me in that price range is a full working farm, with several houses, abstraction licenses a tonne of land and a good chunk of coastline

Alderton Farm and land

Yes it’s an enormous communal garden.

KateMiskin · 26/04/2024 10:29

It's lovely. Sigh. Would so love to live in Hampstead.

FrenchandSaunders · 26/04/2024 10:32

Bit of a stretch to call it Hampstead 🤣

senua · 26/04/2024 10:32

I am imagining a scenario where they paid An Important Artist a lot of money to curate the books (the installation is called Towers of Babel). And then they get an eager new cleaner who decides to dust them and organise them properly ... 😂

Andthereyougo · 26/04/2024 10:32

What’s the weird squashy looking thing with a random rattan chair in the centre?

Think how many affordable homes you could build for £22 million.
