My house is 13⁰.
It's not like I even live in the Scottish Highlands... I'm in the SE of England.
It's nearly May.
It's not fair <stamps foot petulantly>

Horrid isn’t it?! It was so sunny a few weeks ago. I’m in layers, electric blanket on. Can’t get warm

motleymop · 24/04/2024 20:38

Ludicrous isn't it. I feel like the cold is in my bones at the moment.

Hoglet70 · 24/04/2024 20:39

It's bizarre that it's May next week. I was walking the dog in a big winter coat tonight.

LadyKenya · 24/04/2024 20:40

I am wearing a jumper, with a t shirt underneath. I have just turned on the heater as well. I detest being cold. I am truly fed up with the weather.

Nanny31 · 24/04/2024 20:42

Yep! In the North and bloody freezing too! Sleeping in the dressing gown tonight

ssd · 24/04/2024 20:43

Very sunny but cold here today

CatsLikeBoxes · 24/04/2024 20:44

I did some exercise this morning and I had to start off wearing my dressing gown because I couldn't bear to take it off!

I was cold, but thermostat said 16°. I called it a lying bastard & turned the heating on! Have turned it off now as I'm warm enough except for my feet and last night I had a horrible fainting spell when it got too warm. (Not sure how warm it was but an absolute max of 21° - but probably 18°) so not risking that again.

my body is a faulty piece of equipment.

CatsLikeBoxes · 24/04/2024 20:51

@YeahComeOnThen
I can only dream of being too hot. Though have no desire to start fainting! Perhaps you have acclimatised to living in arctic conditions and can no longer cope if it rises above the heady heights of 17⁰?

Getting fucking boring isn't it? 🙄 Thankfully not quite so windy ...... today ....

ZipZapZoom · 24/04/2024 20:53

We've just had exactly the same conversation here. We're all fucking freezing and thoroughly fed up of being so cold!

onwardandupwards · 24/04/2024 20:55

My kids have all the blankets out and I'm under a duvet on the sofa with the youngest, it's so cold 🥶

LindorDoubleChoc · 24/04/2024 21:01

Completely relate. I went out for a walk at lunch time. I'm wearing jeans, a long sleeved top, a long cardigan over, and had a coat on. I was really struggling with the lack of scarf and gloves! FFS!!

Got home from work and the first thing I did before washing hands/putting the kettle on/taking coat off - was put the bloody heating on. It's unreal! (London).

Sagarmatha · 24/04/2024 21:02

It has snowed on my birthday before (28th)!

CatsLikeBoxes · 24/04/2024 21:03

It's only about 9 weeks til the longest day 🫨 surely it has to warm up soon. I'm not even asking for much... I don't care if it's not hot, I just want it to be at least 20⁰.
I'm downgrading my hopes from the giddy heights of expecting to be able to wear a short sleeved t shirt to just hoping to be able to put my hot water bottle away

OP posts:
Marchintospring · 24/04/2024 21:05

But it's LIGHT still at 8.45om.

Its freezing ( my heating has come on last three days. It's set at 16 degrees FFS). It rains it showers every single day. But....the light is back. Hallelujah .

I've just got my hot water bottle back out! Sooo cold! 🥶

RefurbMyAlloys · 24/04/2024 21:12

Me too, OP!! 🥶

Suns been out but, wow, it’s so cold!❄️❄️

wearing DPs thermal T-shirt, trackie bottoms, a big hoodie and huddled under a teddy-bear fleece blanket… and still cold. Trying to persuade floofy fluffy dog on to sofa to cuddle but she’s dozing in her bed.
Its May next Wednesday…
And Christmas Eve in 8 months..😱

CatsLikeBoxes · 24/04/2024 21:13

@Marchintospring yes, the light is very welcome but also a reminder that being light means it should be warmish!

UnravellingTheWorld · 24/04/2024 21:14

I'm currently shivering under a blanket. Sooo ready to start complaining about how hot it is

CrushingOnRubies · 24/04/2024 21:14

It's starting to warm up down in Cornwall but the wind is still really cold. Out of the wind it's lush.

Was determined to wear a summery dress today so I picked one which I could wear tight with.

Annual event happening this weekend usually marks when I start wearing my summer wardrobe. It's supposed to be horrid weather this weekend so doubt that will be happening

reluctantbrit · 24/04/2024 21:15

We still have the thermostat sat on 19 degrees and DH light the fireplace yesterday.

ouch321 · 24/04/2024 21:16

I really don't like hot weather but am very much looking forward to warm weather. I wish it would spend more time being warm (18 to 25) rather than being cold and swinging suddenly to hot. Warm is the best!!

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 24/04/2024 21:16

But who cares if it's light in the evenings if you can't go for a sunny evening walk, sit in beer garden or even take your bloody puffer jacket off!

AdoraBell · 24/04/2024 21:17

It’s bloody annoying. I’m a cold bod and yesterday I had my shearling jacket with gloves for walking the pooch 🐕 mid afternoon. We’re in Somerset.
