Weird things that feel nice

I’m currently using ear drops due to an ear infection and I’d forgotten how much I love that feeling when you put them in, then after a few seconds they bubble and trickle down. I love that little tickle in your inner ear.

It got me thinking about other sensory things I like - another one is standing in bare feet on a thick piece of cardboard and feeling the “cells” of the cardboard squish.

Am I the only strange one or has anyone else got other weird but nice sensory feelings?!

Anything to do with ears, just no. I get the cardboard thing.

I like the smell of books, this one I can't explain.
My kids watch a lot of asmr things on YouTube (if that's the correct term?). Bottles being driven over to make a pop sound and slime being squished.

Washing my hands and the water gets too hot...feels really good strangely

I've also got ear drops today! I don't like the weird feeling though - makes me feel almost nauseous.

Lying flat on the bottom of a full bath, because the sensation of the warm water covering my face is so nice

Clean, good quality sheets and goose down pillows in clean pillow case, wearing no clothes - a fairly standard one but hard to beat

Love the head massage at the hairdressers and wish it lasted two hours

And I love using good scissors on fabric or paper that is flat on the table so you get the scrunch sound as it cuts. It always makes me think of being a child and watching them making stuff on Blue Peter.

I like those head massage things that are long prongs with a handle. And back scratches.

Walking to work once in ballet flats a thin tissue blew towards me and wafted over my bare foot. It felt lovely!

I get the asmr thing, always have. Some sounds give me a tingly, electric feeling in my head and neck. I found the you tube videos many years ago when watching makeup tutorials.

Having the everything shower, putting on silk pyjamas and climbing into a fresh bed 🤌🏼 oh and taking my bra off

When you have water trapped in your ear and can feel it moving around and then it suddenly "pops" and trickles away.

Fingers in holes - thimbles, ear phone cases, pop balls, random tube like things

Running shower water into my fingernail beds

All this ear stuff is horrifying to me, but I can't point the finger of weirdness due to my love of silicone dish scourers. I can't pass them in the shop without stroking them.

I’ve got a real thing for the smell of aircon. It’s like a sponge smell and I love when I first put the aircon in on my car. It makes me so happy.

I also like smelling sponges when they’re wet. Can’t get enough.

Another one for taking my bra off.

I like very hot shower on my legs - briefly

Going from warm feet to cool feet under the sheets. Going from cool to warm also under the sheets.

I love chewing bristles.

I have a Toothbrush drawer full of toothbrushes for me to chew.

I hate going to work and not being able to chew my toothbrush. I chew on brushes all the time at home. It feels so nice.

Putting your whole hand into a big tub of Sudocrem and squishing it between your fingers… mmm

I love my feet being tickled

also in the summer I love having a hot bath while eating an ice lolly- it’s the mix of hot and cold - can’t explain it. Started doing it while pregnant and have carried it on

eating jam doughnuts with a knife and fork

I used to love the smell in a dry cleaners shop.

I like having my blood pressure taken, I love the feeling when it squeezes your arm.

I've always loved the ASMR thing. When I was a child I used to go all relaxed and zoned out when teachers wrote on the blackboard and similar sounds to that. I'm awful when I work in an office as paper rustling etc sends me all dopey.
