Weird things that feel nice

I’m currently using ear drops due to an ear infection and I’d forgotten how much I love that feeling when you put them in, then after a few seconds they bubble and trickle down. I love that little tickle in your inner ear.

It got me thinking about other sensory things I like - another one is standing in bare feet on a thick piece of cardboard and feeling the “cells” of the cardboard squish.

Am I the only strange one or has anyone else got other weird but nice sensory feelings?!

Sticking my thumb nail under the middle finger nail on the same hand and pressing hard.

The IT person coming to sort out my computer. Can be anybody, just serious tingles. Yet to find an ASMR that can replicate!

Also, somebody writing or drawing in my notebook. Same as above.

Yes!! This is exactly the feeling I like, or when someone is slightly learning over me and doing something for me on my computer, it gives me such a wield tingly lovely feeling.

Oh yes I do this. I also push my thumb nail against the side of my phone. Ive got one of those magsafe phone cases now and they're perfect for this, I'm at it constantly.

Biting polystyrene. The squeaky feeling.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
<breathes in>
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

This times 1000000.

I can’t STAND the sound of polystyrene. It’s as close to a phobia as I’ve got.

@olivebranch31 my bestie used to say

‘if tits could sigh they would when your bra comes off’ :)

Mine don’t sigh, but I’ve heard them give me a round of applause.

Ooh you know what I love. Falling sleep reading something on my phone. Then waking up, phone still in hand a minute later and reading a bit more, then dozing off again.

hermithead · 20/04/2024 21:12

I came across that Manchester Head Spa on IG the other day. I'm in Scotland, but I am absolutely booking in for that when the appointments reopen on 1st May.

I watch ASMR videos a lot.

Aramiss · 20/04/2024 21:22

Chewing a wet flannel.

It was even more satisfying when pregnant.

Beat that weirdness 🤣🤣

ElleLeopine · 20/04/2024 21:30

I love the feeling of warm skin on cold skin. Such as when in winter for some reason some of your fingers are colder than others and you put them together, and your brain can't tell which is which.
Or you have left one leg out of the bed covers, and you put one leg on top of the other, and your brain is confused.
I have probably not explained this well, but does anyone get this?

Beachy77 · 20/04/2024 21:35

Biting a wet bath sponge over and over. Bliss 😆

enoughofthiscrap · 20/04/2024 21:44

When I'm in the bath & drop of water runs down the inside of my arm

idril · 20/04/2024 21:48

Having splinters taken out with a needle. Having my toenails picked (my husband really loves me 😂😂)

Lizzbear · 20/04/2024 21:49

Stroking my cat with my bear toes

@Wren77 oh wow yeah that takes me back to my childhood and rushing to open mums new catalogue not to see the toys but to smell the pages! I need a catalogue to sniff now lol. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Another 13 perfume by Le Labo smells like that Smile

Someone else doing my make up and taking a really long time over it

Lillygolightly · 20/04/2024 22:18

Hospital: now don’t get me wrong I’ve no wish to be sick or be in hospital but whenever I am there for an appointment/visit or whatever I just find it oddly very comforting. This has confused me for the longest time as I think it’s a really strange thing to find comforting THEN I remembered that when I was little my nana was an auxiliary nurse and often used to take me on her shift and I would be fussed over by the other nurses. I was very little and just barely remember it, but I guess that this is why I find it so comforting.

Lillygolightly · 20/04/2024 22:21

Oh and speaking of hospital I also love being given a general anaesthetic, I absolutely hate coming round from one as it always makes me sick but I love love that feeling of gently floating off into a lovely dreamless sleep. It makes me feel all tingly just thinking about it.

MollsDolls · 20/04/2024 22:29

Cold pillows in bed.
When hubby rubs my back and he finds a spot and will pick it....I know weirdo
Had a pedicure today and loved the feeling of the rough skin being filed off.
Peeling skin...you know like after sunburn or especially if I do one of those foot masks that remove all dead skin and you peel like mad.

When eating raspberries I like to put whole one in mouth and stick my tongue in the hole left from the stalk bit then squish raspberry onto roof of mouth.

Writing on a banana in biro.

The smell of insulin.

Pulling fluff out of lint drawer in tumble dryer.

Got a new ear piercing and I know I shouldn't, but I keep twisting earring and feeling/hearing the little scab crunch.

I do the same with raspberries but I hate the smell of insulin!!

That happened to me last night on this very threadGrinthat's why I'm here again now, hoping it happens again

SwedishEdith · 20/04/2024 22:49

Really rubbing your eyes when itchy from dust or hay fever.

VincentVanGoth · 20/04/2024 22:50

Getting a huge psoriasis plaque off of my head with the nitty gritty.

when you have a scratch or cut and the stingy feeling it gives you when you get in the bath.

the achy feeling in your arm after the flu jab

pulling a long clump of hair from the bath plug

Oh, yes, isn't it the best? I leave it for ages until the water isn't draining properly then have a glorious delve with a rod I made out of a coat hanger. The feeling when the clump comes out of the pipe, and then pulling it up through the plug hole!

Axx · 20/04/2024 23:00

I love ASMR. There's a girl called Belle on tiktok and she's amazing.
