I know this is a chatroom about Chris and Eve and how those who followed their YouTube videos were shocked a year ago when they just disappeared, but I’d like to pick up the conversation by talking about some other YouTube Channels because I think it's important relative to those came into this chat to troll and chide those of us concerned about Chris and Eve, as well as Turbo and Jet (cats) and the children.
There are trolls wherever you go when it comes to the internet, so that’s to be expected, along with the personal attacks. But for those who chose to do that, maybe my statement will help you understand and even if it doesn’t, at least those of us who are honest about who we are and the fact that we like to follow the YouTube channels of down-to-Earth folks like Chris and Eve were, are finding community to share our thoughts and feelings.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m not one who follows “Influencers.” Those kind of people ARE fake and I’m just not interested. I like down-to-Earth channels. I believe I’ve mentioned that I’m a college professor here in the U.S., so I think my “fakeness radar” is pretty spot on, and I don’t fall for the myriad of “influencers” who are fake as Eff. Which brings me to a couple of very down-to-Earth channels I’ve been following for a very long time: Sherpa/Sherpa’s Day and “Keyush the Stunt Dog,” “Key & Jodie” & “Jodie Boo.”
Last July, I suddenly stopped commenting on this thread, even though some folks lobbed some pretty heavy insults and assumptions at me. The reason had nothing to do with them and everything to do with Sherpa and his “hooman” Jamie Larder. Sherpa crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 15, 2024, and I was devastated along with everyone else that loved this special doggo that we never met.
Jamie and Sherpa’s adventures were hilarious, and I enjoyed them immensely; I’m not even a dog person. I cried like a baby for 2 weeks when Sherpa passed. It was absolutely devastating. Jamie is no “influencer” and his and Sherpa’s channel was pure entertainment served up with love to the people who watched the videos. For 5 years I blissfully looked forward to every episode, just like I had done with Chris and Eve since 2016.
For 6 years I’ve been howling along with K’eyush to his hilarious antics. OMG, there’s wasn’t a funnier, cuter, more loveable dog on YouTube and his “hooman” Jodie is the sweetest girl who loves her precious “Key” the way we all love our “furbabies.”
Key died on Monday, and I’m once again devastated at the loss of a beautiful dog – he was a Siberian Husky, while Sherpa was a Malamute.
Those of you who question how I could be so sad over the deaths of 2 dogs I never met and who are a continent away from me . . . all I can say is you have no soul and are probably lacking love in your own lives. I can’t express in words what Sherpa and K’eyush meant to me and those of you who followed their adventures probably feel the same way.
For anyone who can’t or won’t understand that and want to question why we cared about the animals and people in these down-to-Earth channels, all I have to say is “Sod off.”
For anyone who wants to chat about Sherpa and K’eyush, I think we should start a thread of our own, even if angry trolls show up and try to drag the conversation into the gutter. You can’t understand so instead of trolling, go find something constructive to do. Those of us with hearts cared about Chris, Eve, Turbo, Jet, Rose & Poppy, Sherpa, Jamie, K’eyush & Jodie (& her Mum) and all the other down-to-Earth channels we watch.
Have faith, everyone. We will get through these sad days.
