Chris and Eve vloggers quit?

Limonjelly · 14/04/2024 18:11

I used to follow a YouTube couple, Chris and Eve, they seemed quite nice and had 2 cats they vlogged about a lot, and more recently had 2 kids. I think they had a reasonable following.

I wanted to find out what company cat-proofed their garden, but I can't find their YT channel or Insta any more? The accounts are both unavailable. Just wondered if anyone knew if they've decided to quit vlogging? Thinking about it, I hadn't seen any videos by them come up for ages. (And in the meantime if anyone can recommend good cat-proofing companies in Surrey or Berkshire area, I'd be grateful!)

This is why I don't like people. Y'all are messed up!

Chouette77 · 08/07/2024 07:43

Haha not messed up, I just thought I knew her a long time ago, but not a pilot, Probably someone else

Olivegardenishome · 09/07/2024 23:47

@Chouette77 - yes she definitely was a first officer. I know this for certain, but cannot say why exactly as it’d be outing, but think along the lines of a family member of mine used to be Chris’ and her colleague.

Ah, it can't be her then, thank you, that will stop my racing brain!

WFCAJG · 22/07/2024 14:56

The company Chris and Eve used to protect turbo and jet is called Protectapet.

FrankieG1965 · 29/11/2024 00:29

They dissolved their company. Whatever happened They are not coming back. It looks like they were going to continue in March of This year, but something happened, and they decided to stop in July. The dissolvement was official 1 month ago.

They might have split up as a couple, but that is pure speculation. The dissolvement of their company however is not. It's a pity we will never know.

Interesting

Proudmummy67 · 04/02/2025 18:32

So was their company their YouTube account/channel? Is that how it works?

It was sad not having their vlogmas over Christmas this year.

IrishBritGirl · 07/02/2025 03:45

I know this is a chatroom about Chris and Eve and how those who followed their YouTube videos were shocked a year ago when they just disappeared, but I’d like to pick up the conversation by talking about some other YouTube Channels because I think it's important relative to those came into this chat to troll and chide those of us concerned about Chris and Eve, as well as Turbo and Jet (cats) and the children.

There are trolls wherever you go when it comes to the internet, so that’s to be expected, along with the personal attacks. But for those who chose to do that, maybe my statement will help you understand and even if it doesn’t, at least those of us who are honest about who we are and the fact that we like to follow the YouTube channels of down-to-Earth folks like Chris and Eve were, are finding community to share our thoughts and feelings.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m not one who follows “Influencers.” Those kind of people ARE fake and I’m just not interested. I like down-to-Earth channels. I believe I’ve mentioned that I’m a college professor here in the U.S., so I think my “fakeness radar” is pretty spot on, and I don’t fall for the myriad of “influencers” who are fake as Eff. Which brings me to a couple of very down-to-Earth channels I’ve been following for a very long time: Sherpa/Sherpa’s Day and “Keyush the Stunt Dog,” “Key & Jodie” & “Jodie Boo.”

Last July, I suddenly stopped commenting on this thread, even though some folks lobbed some pretty heavy insults and assumptions at me. The reason had nothing to do with them and everything to do with Sherpa and his “hooman” Jamie Larder. Sherpa crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 15, 2024, and I was devastated along with everyone else that loved this special doggo that we never met.

Jamie and Sherpa’s adventures were hilarious, and I enjoyed them immensely; I’m not even a dog person. I cried like a baby for 2 weeks when Sherpa passed. It was absolutely devastating. Jamie is no “influencer” and his and Sherpa’s channel was pure entertainment served up with love to the people who watched the videos. For 5 years I blissfully looked forward to every episode, just like I had done with Chris and Eve since 2016.

For 6 years I’ve been howling along with K’eyush to his hilarious antics. OMG, there’s wasn’t a funnier, cuter, more loveable dog on YouTube and his “hooman” Jodie is the sweetest girl who loves her precious “Key” the way we all love our “furbabies.”

Key died on Monday, and I’m once again devastated at the loss of a beautiful dog – he was a Siberian Husky, while Sherpa was a Malamute.

Those of you who question how I could be so sad over the deaths of 2 dogs I never met and who are a continent away from me . . . all I can say is you have no soul and are probably lacking love in your own lives. I can’t express in words what Sherpa and K’eyush meant to me and those of you who followed their adventures probably feel the same way.

For anyone who can’t or won’t understand that and want to question why we cared about the animals and people in these down-to-Earth channels, all I have to say is “Sod off.”

For anyone who wants to chat about Sherpa and K’eyush, I think we should start a thread of our own, even if angry trolls show up and try to drag the conversation into the gutter. You can’t understand so instead of trolling, go find something constructive to do. Those of us with hearts cared about Chris, Eve, Turbo, Jet, Rose & Poppy, Sherpa, Jamie, K’eyush & Jodie (& her Mum) and all the other down-to-Earth channels we watch.

Have faith, everyone. We will get through these sad days.

@IrishBritGirl I think it's important to remember that if someone doesn't agree with you online it doesn't make them a troll.

I don't think this will be the place to have the discussion you want. People will comment on the dramatic nature of your post- especially as it seems to have been living in your brain for 6 months.

Yeah I do think it's fine to enjoy watching other peoples dogs if that's your thing, but a bit weird to go off on people who don't having no soul.

RSSN · 07/02/2025 20:59

I find this so disturbing that you're a college professor. And it's actually totally wrong for anyone to be exploiting their children on the internet so I'm glad they're not on it any longer. Obv hoping all are ok but children def better off now the fact that theyre not on the internet for WEIRDOS to be watching.

You're getting into really weird behaviour if you're crying for 2 weeks over a dog you've never met, I would suggest getting out into the real world for some fresh air and away from the screen.

So was their company their YouTube account/channel? Is that how it works?

It was sad not having their vlogmas over Christmas this year.

I think they made youtube and their brand (Chris & Eve) a business. The fact that they closed down their business doen't bode well. At least for them comeing back online.

What happened to them, or between them is pure speculation. It is a pity they left without explanation.

ArghMyEars · 20/04/2025 16:51

I’ve only just realised their account has disappeared- I’ve had a long long break from social media and went to search for them and saw everything gone.
I just can’t image them splitting up, they always seemed so in love but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. I’m sad that I don’t have their account to catch up on now!

It is sad, I really enjoyed their old videos, pre-children.

I think, if they would be done with YouTube, at least would have made a goodbye video. The sudden removal of everything makes me believe they split. Again, this is pure speculation and wish them all the best.

A more hopeful thought is that they were hacked, using the same password across all the platforms, but that doesn't take in account, they closed their account/business down willingly, by themselves.

MyLovelyPurse · 10/06/2025 22:56

@IrishBritGirl
I know this is pedantic of me and not what the thread is about I I do just want to pick up on something you have misunderstood in my previous post.

Mumsnet is based in Britain and most people who post or read the threads are British. Therefore many people will get the wrong idea about what your job is.

In the USA a professor is someone who teaches at a university. In the UK someone who teaches in a university is a lecturer. Yes, they must have a PhD/doctorate but they are just a lecturer. A professor in a British university is not a regular university teacher, they are a high level academic like a head of department. This is what AI has to say:

In the UK, a professor is the most senior academic rank in a university, equivalent to a full professor or endowed chair in the US. It signifies a high level of achievement in both teaching and research, and often involves academic leadership within a department or faculty.

Many of the people reading this thread will think you are a high level academic, whereas in fact you just teach at a university.

CandidAquaShark · 01/08/2025 13:35

I also followed them for years, i watched before they had the girls and from the day they picked up the kittens, did you ever find out what happened to them, i check regularly to see if they return

CandidAquaShark · 01/08/2025 13:57

I watched them before they had the girls and I even remember the day they brought home jett and turbo and I never once remember them saying they were pilots

pinksalmon1 · 02/08/2025 12:16

@CandidAquaShark No they were careful to never mention they were pilots, but Chris' mom Paula posted on her IG pictures of airplanes and she captioned them with like that must be Chris (or her other sons) flying home from so and so place. Also if you found out what their surnames were, you could have seen their LinkedIn pages and their jobs as pilots (or first officers or something like that).

I watched them before they had daughters too. They were less (never?) sneaky about getting free stuff back then.

MPJ · 14/03/2026 14:58

I am late to this conversation. I watched Chris and Eve during the time they were starting their family and fixing up their first home. It was very sweet and watchable - for a while. Then the tone shifted from cute family startup to hyping products. Then they moved to a much bigger home in a posh looking area. Eve raised the garage door and it was packed to the rafters with donated goods and gifts. Unabashed consumption and grift turned me off. I quit watching.
