Chris and Eve vloggers quit?

Limonjelly · 14/04/2024 18:11

I used to follow a YouTube couple, Chris and Eve, they seemed quite nice and had 2 cats they vlogged about a lot, and more recently had 2 kids. I think they had a reasonable following.

I wanted to find out what company cat-proofed their garden, but I can't find their YT channel or Insta any more? The accounts are both unavailable. Just wondered if anyone knew if they've decided to quit vlogging? Thinking about it, I hadn't seen any videos by them come up for ages. (And in the meantime if anyone can recommend good cat-proofing companies in Surrey or Berkshire area, I'd be grateful!)

No acting? 🤣🤣 of course there is. I've just watched a couple of the juicy blog ones you mentioned and it's so fucking staged it's unreal.

@Zaqi earlier in the thread I did speculate that it's weird and almost attention seeking in itself to disappear without an "over and out" type post. But now you're demonstrating exactly what they must've been dealing with, and sadly, I bet you're on the tame side compared to some.

What a strange world

@Zaqi I'm really not the one who is being thick. The acting is the persona they have on screen. Are you honestly that naive to think that's 100% their own personality? Of course they put on an act to make more money.

What you have seen is what they have chosen to share but of course with a 'spin' on it to make money. It's really not as personal as you think.

Irion · 21/05/2024 17:55

Some people on here are batshit crazy 💀

@Zaqi I now don't know if you're just taking the piss.

I get that it's 'real life' but it's their spin on real life. When they vlogged their wedding how long was actually shared of the day? 10 minutes, an hour? Can't imagine more than that. Their wedding would have been a full day thing with the vast majority not shared. Same with parties, things with their kids etc. They share the shiny bits that they will put on their social media persona, to get views which makes them money. They will be different off screen and with people they know. How is this hard to understand??

TakeOnFlea · 21/05/2024 18:07

She's deffo taking the piss 🤣🤣 baby reindeer or what?!

ImNotThereAmI · 21/05/2024 18:08

Acting or not, these people have chosen to not leave any messages or info to their public. They don’t want you to know. What is hard to understand about that? If you really see them as your friends zaqi, maybe try respecting that

Now you're just being angry and insulting to others on this thread.

Two things strike me.... they become like close friends or family even. They are not your family, this was their job!! You're being at best naive, and at worst.... I don't even know.

Also, thank god for the EU right to be forgotten law..... just think what poor C & E would be having to deal with 😱

You’re clearly a bit delusional if you think that the content of vloggers is all ‘real life’ 🤣

Sincerely, someone who (used to, thankfully) watch loads of vloggers before I got a bit of a reality check.

Unless they were vlogging 24/7 they were not documenting their lives.

There's no talking to you @Zaqi, and you're now being aggressive to other posters so I'm reporting your posts.

I can't believe people have messaged their friends about this. Or that they think randoms online are like family!

gnatschuffs · 21/05/2024 18:39

Why would you even watch these people? They're not your friends or family and it's just an act to gain more followers/make money out of gullible people

Really odd behaviour.

Seriously you are being really rude. You seem to think nobody else knows about vlogging. I'm afraid you are being very naive thinking you know these people and that what they show you is anything more than a persona. Yes, you saw them get married and have children. I've seen the same on EastEnders.

Don't worry, I have.

I wonder how OP feels about starting this thread now, @Limonjelly does it make you realise why C & E may have gone dark online?

I see a lot of people saying to just leave them alone, and I can say I am trying. I have no plans to search up their family or anything like that. But I am not sure if some of you who say you have no idea who these people are truly understand what its like.

I have followed Chris and Eve since 2013 I think, a good 10 years at least. And my brain is struggling to cope. I feel like I am grieving, like they have died. And I know that can maybe sound creepy. But its been 10 years of often weekly videos, sometimes twice a week. That is a lot of minutes that has been shared. Turbo and Jet, Jets medical problems, ups and downs. The mouse in the cat food, the trip to Lapland, the wedding, the birth of two wonderfull kids. Eve sharing her post partum depression journey. All of the special moments. All of the cat videos. The protect a pet garden that I dream of having myself. I have sent them christmas cards, and they have sent one to me.

Even if its just 10-20 minutes a video, you do start getting to know the people making them. And when its just a full total wipeout without a single word, yes my brain feels like they have died little, and that the family have hired some people to do a complete wipe of their information all across the internet.

Now I would say more likely they have just quit. The total silence and no explenation is nothing like them, and makes me worry that something bad has happened. It is totally completly out of charachter. But maybe something bad did happen. I know from other youtubers that there are people who have had to move because of creepy stalkers. Who have had to litterally move to escape. And if something happened like that here, I can see Chris and Eve protecting the girls and the boys, and doing an out of character thing and just quitting.
I did talk to some others about this, and they did mentione that the reason for a silent wipeout like this could be to make sure there were no warning, no way for people to know and to download any videos and pictures before they wiped it all. And at least that thought gave a little bit of an explenation. But my brain still feels like they have died just with how suddenly they dissapeared. I feel flabbergastered might be a good word for it, dumstruck. Its been 10 years of a constant of them being there, and now its all gone. It is a bit hard to know how to react.

I would totally respect them wanting to quit. Absolutly would understand it. But it would be easier to accept them being gone if there had been a goodbye video or even just a message. I have wondered if maybe there was, and I missed it, and now since its all gone there is no way to know. But also it seems a lot of people missed it if thats the case.

Chris and Eve if you ever come across this, and make it this deep into the thread. Know that a lot of followers are just plain genuinly worried about you. I do hope that you are all well. That nothing bad has happened. I do feel I can remember there was some talk about some kind of hacker some time back, on Instagram I think (or youtube 🤔), but then I might be misremembering it. But anyways I do wish you well wherever you guys are.

You don't know them though, that's the point, you only know what they chose to share, influencers choose how to present themselves to the world.

Ten years is a long time and I understand feeling a bit sad that the content you enjoy is over, I mean this kindly and with genuine concern but I'd consider therapy to process the feelings you are having. I know people say that in a passive aggressive way but I genuinely mean it with kindness because it sounds like it's hitting you harder than it maybe should.

In a way it's great, I mean that it is possible to completely wipe your identity online if needed. I always thought it was impossible.

There are companies specialising in it.

"This is multiple airlines.. sounds like you don’t have much industry experience!"

Quite.

I have 25 years experience thanks! 😂😂😂

TakeOnFlea · 24/05/2024 09:52

You've not taken much in then if you think it's a requirement of their airport security clearance or that of the airline that they, quote "wipe all traces of their online presence"

Working in an industry for decades obviously doesn't make you very good at it because this simply isn't a "thing" 🤷🏽‍♀️
