New thread. I took the liberty - the old one was at 999!

Iain Dale on LBC did a really long interview with her tonight - is that where the clip was from?

I don't know why he did that. She is a has-been. Very odd.

It's because she has a book coming out tomorrow. All about them wrong'uns who stopped her being PM apparently.

Chris thingy from the BBC also interviewed her. She could barely string any answers together.

So sorry to derail! Wanted to start thread but app won’t let me. Advice on that gratefully received 😄
Anyone seen Chris Mason’s interview with Liz Truss? What a bloody car crash. WTAF is wrong with her? In terms of self awareness, I think she’s just trumped (pun not intended) Prince Andrew. Unbelievable.

I didn't know there is another interview, is it on the BBC?

Haven't watched the Iain Dale one yet either

Yes! Just mentioned it before I saw your post. Crazy woman. She has absolutely no self awareness.

MrsSkylerWhite · 15/04/2024 23:28

Yes, DuncinToffee, on Newscast. Just saw truncated version on bbc news. Mind blowing. She has not an iota of self-doubt. It’s still all the fault of other people. Wasn’t sure whether to admire her self-belief or call the folks in the white coats (for about 10 seconds, when the latter thought clearly won out).

countrygirl99 · 16/04/2024 06:21

During the leadership elections which Truss won one of my sons was at a social event and chatting to a fairly senior civil servant who had worked closely with her. He told my son she would deny that grass was green and rain was wet if it didn't suit her agenda.

Notonthestairs · 16/04/2024 06:55

With apologies because I know not everyone has Twitter but this is excellent questioning from Tim Loughton (Tory MP - announced over the weekend he's stepping down).

We have 40,000 refugees who cannot have their claims processed as they arrived post Rwanda plan. Rwanda can't take 40,000 even if it was operational. So what's The Plan?
There isn't one.

"What will happen to the tens of thousands of asylum seekers already in the UK who won't have their asylum claim processed, assuming they can't all be sent to Rwanda? @CommonsPACAC asked Home Office top brass the million dollar question this afternoon:"

Zonder · 16/04/2024 07:33

Interesting clip @Notonthestairs - there really is no plan, is there?

One guy mentioned royal assent - that made me wonder if Rishi still has the PM weekly audience with the King, especially given that he doesn't seem to turn up for anything else. I wonder if Charles ever just turns round to him and says call a bloody election, man!

IClaudine · 16/04/2024 07:44

I had no idea Truss had a book out. It sounds very Dorries-esque.

Zonder · 16/04/2024 07:47

I hope it's filed under the fantasy section @IClaudine

I just watched a clip. Is it me or is she three sheets to the wind?

It’s not you. She had that very careful enunciation of someone trying not to sound pissed and she was still slurring her words. I wish she would go and open a B&B in Crete.

Furlough was too generous ShockAngry

She got a £18,660 pay-out after resigning as PM

DuncinToffee · 16/04/2024 08:42

almost airline

And what is with the patrionising tone and gestures, are they being trained in that?

#KayBurley: So you've got an airline to take people to Rwanda now?

Laura Farris(Home Office Minister): It's not the operational logistics that's holding us up

KB: So you do have an airline?

LF: We're very close to being able to do this..

KB: So you almost have an airline?

Zonder · 16/04/2024 08:45

The former prime minister writes towards the end of the book that "the road to hell is paved with compromise and triangulation."
No one could accuse her of that.

From Chris Mason on the link just above.

Notonthestairs · 16/04/2024 08:46

I've just watched that Laura Farris interview claiming Rwanda is a safe country. It's reminding me of the last months of Johnson, when Ministers would do the media rounds and you could practically see them bum clench as they lied.

BIossomtoes · 16/04/2024 08:50

Truss has just received the kiss of death; Allison Pearson is fan girling all over her in the Telegraph this morning.

Brutal

‘She was a political spasm.’

Former Conservative MP Sir Alan Duncan tells @IainDale that a Liz Truss comeback would 'guarantee the finishing of the party', and the ex-PM’s ‘defiance’ is ‘peculiar and lacking in emotional intelligence’.

"There are no cameras here" said Johnson to a prospective voter in a hospital.

We know this as it was captured on about 100 cameras

Like this one when Chris Mason asks her about the lettuce?

Rwanda is now just about getting one plane to take off.

If it does, I hope the whole Tory party lines up to wave it off.

There’s also this one from the Sun where she wants to abolish the Supreme Court and the Human Rights Act. Pretty sure she’s pissed here.

Someone really needs to stage an intervention to protect her from herself.

Notonthestairs · 16/04/2024 09:16

She wants to abolish the Supreme Court and install politically appointed judges.
Throw in a few religiously minded political donors nudging their pet Ministers and ta-da 🤗 🇺🇸

Smoking ban vote is today, Sunak could face a rebellion Confused
