Interesting about James Bagge too. I do know a chap whose uncle was a Tory MP ( only in a hobby group I belong to, he doesn't call round for tea !) and this chap reckons he could no longer vote Tory.

I have a theory, that traditional Shire Tories like to think they are compassionate people, and so Sunak and his gangs endless hates are quite off putting to them.

I was startled to find the Electoral Calculus polling for East Worthing and Shoreham.
Last time I visited Worthing, my impression was not of a place that would vote Labour, but that was quite a few years ago. No wonder the incumbent is suddenly stepping down.

Anyone see the headline in the Mail about the far left being involved in a plot to take over Labour ? Didn’t read it but wonder if these drip drip headlines will influence some people. Saw a different one (not sure which paper) claiming that a labour insider reckoned AR was guilty of fraud. Sadly this is going to happen on a daily basis until a GE and no one will be able to discriminate between lies, exaggerations and the truth. It’s really worrying for democracy.

Surely a plot by the far left is better than the fact that the Tory party has been taken over by the far right?

Ithaka Press has landed Kingmaker: Secrets, Lies and the Truth about Five Prime Ministers from Graham Brady, chair of the Conservative Private Members’ Committee, in a six-figure deal.

Publishing director Sarah Braybrooke acquired world all language rights in a six-way auction from Max Edwards at Aevitas Creative Management UK. Publication is scheduled for 7th November 2024, but “will move to be released as close as possible to the general election”.
