New thread. I took the liberty - the old one was at 999!

And that bloke with a big nose

I mean if we were going to find the sneerer on this thread...

Fucking hell, I missed that. That's not sneering, that's full on, blatant antisemitism.

Perhaps that use of Tory funds is permitted under party rules. It would explain a lot tbh.

Yes, it would also explain the use of Tory party funds to pay for medical treatment for the victim(s) of the Tory MP rapist.Hmm

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2024 16:38

They cannot conclude there has been no misuse either

Notonthestairs · 21/04/2024 16:46

"Yes, it would also explain the use of Tory party funds to pay for medical treatment for the victim(s) of the Tory MP rapist."

I'd forgotten about that.

I am glad, if you know what I mean, that you have said that. I thought it, but wondered if I was being oversensitive.

😂😂😂😂😂 fcking hell.

Is he Jewish? Am I? Are you? The only one of those I can answer is about me.

Jesus. No wonder the world’s in a mess.

Has anyone noticed how many threads there are on Sunak's plans for benefit claimants? I am having to make an effort to stay off them.

😂🙈 God you’re all so clueless it’s embarrassing. No wonder Labour are in their current pitiful position.

Piggywaspushed · 21/04/2024 17:23

The pitiful position where they are commanding a handsome lead in every single opinion poll?

Clueless about what, exactly?

Saucery · 21/04/2024 17:30

Will Self has Jewish heritage, yes, although he ‘resigned’ his Jewishness Hmm iirc. He’s not a particularly nice person, but antisemitism hasn’t been a feature of these threads before. I’d hope it doesn’t become a permanent feature.

TooBigForMyBoots · 21/04/2024 17:31

Oops, more "accidental" antisemitism from a Tory woman(?).🙄

Yep, that one. How many points ahead is it now? About 26 in the latest one?

Yes , loads.

Thanks @IClaudine . He treated Deborah Orr so appallingly that I admit I don’t keep track of his opinions much these days. I met him once, about 20 years ago. He was personable enough, but then I wasn’t in any sort of relationship with him so of course he would be - books to sell and all that. All of which signed copies probably hanging around in a local charity shop somewhere still Grin Anyway, Authors I Have Met is probably a bit sidetrack-y so………

"The Quantity Theory of Insanity" is a modern masterpiece

And really everyone in FWR should read "Cock and Bull".

Yy

Saucery · 21/04/2024 17:44

Oh, I’m keeping my PJ O Rourkes! I rarely charity shop signed copies or first editions but I made an exception for Self.
