Crikey ! So you don’t think when you buy a property you should be able to own it all? If the previous owner wanted to give the land to a neighbour she should have paid to legally have it transferred. She didn’t - hence the land is owned by OP.

Nah, sorry, this isn't 'the seller was wobbly of mind and totally forgot the coffee tin containing 5K she had stuffed under the floorboards in 1983, and therefore did not actually intend to leave the buyer a 5K gift'...

The seller sold the property including the allotment plot. She will have gone through the details of the deeds and what the property consisted of with her solicitor and with the estate agents prior to sale. The particulars of what she was selling will have been discussed several times during the process.

She could possibly have sold the plot seperately, she could have gifted it, she did neither thing at any point in her ownership of it, but had she genuinely wanted to sell or gift it to Bolshy Babs, surely she would have done so.

It is possible its not permitted for the plot to be separated from the property - that would be in the deeds somewhere, @YaMuvva could possibly confirm that.

I don't think YaMuvva is coming back :( I hope it's not because Barbara has buried her under her Broccoli

Had a little peek and @YaMuvva ‘s not been on since 23rd April. She may be away, or maybe Babs has taken her hostage? Hoping it’s nothing serious with DH or anything and they’re just busy shopping in the garden centre.

In the meantime (whilst we're waiting for the 21st) I'm wondering if Barbara has the mysterious disappearing ironing board buried under her broccoli.
The ironing board that just vanished -a MNetters thread from a good few years ago. We never did find out as that op vanished just like the ironing board.

In normal circumstances the op would pop up and say there was nothing new to be said and touch base.
She won’t be back, and in the meantime people like me will keep filling up the thread until it is full and the whole thing will die it’s inevitable death.

It might be worth securing the next continuation thread now @YaMuvva, before this one fills up with people coming to check for any updates and shamelessly placemarking...! 😊

I know what you mean. But I suspect it's all got a bit more serious/complicated than expected and maybe the OP can't face thousands of "cancel the cheque type" posts that ignore any RL advice she's getting. Hopefully we will hear once resolved!

I hope @YaMuvva comes back with a positive outcome when the four weeks is up but in the meanwhile I can confirm that her cake recommendation is excellent. I went rogue with the icing but it’s a delicious cake with a lovely moist texture.

Hello all!

I took some time away from life (and MN) as I haven’t been well, having to have surgery tomorrow so it’s all just been sinking in. Apologies only just seen the last few posts wondering where I am and if this a troll post (it’s not feel free to report to MN if you have suspicions).

sadly I have no exciting updates other than there has been no opportunity to go to the allotment to even check it but we eagerly await the 20th! The weather here in GLORIOUS and so DH is very excited as although my recovery will be several weeks he will hopefully be able to get down there soon after we have it back!

I’ve seen Babs a few times come out her house and she has a face like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle and ignores me. DH is gonna go to the allotment tomorrow after he drops me at hospital when the kids are in school just to see if it’s still populated with her crap.

in the meantime I have an painful recovery ahead of me so I am looking forward to laughing with you all again!
