Have you found out yet why your solicitor didn't look at the Title? Ie why your solicitor didn't do the first thing any conveyancer has to do?

Perhaps try reading the original thread first? Where the OP said that she became aware of this plot of land during the conveyance process and was informed by the solicitor.

And, as it was subsequently found, the seller had failed to declare this information (about Babs and the garage squatter).

PassTheTrowel · 13/04/2024 12:07

Bought the title deeds to all the surrounding houses - no evidence of any external plots. Have no idea why ours has one and v curious to know now.

External plots will only show up on the deeds to the surrounding houses if they have been incorporated into those title numbers.

It may be that neighbours do own separate plots but under a different title number.

If you want to find out if any of the plot owners are also owners of your neighbouring houses you will need to search the title numbers of the plots and compare owners' names.

Checking I !!

Causewerethespecialtwo · 13/04/2024 12:09

sorry just placemarking on the new thread.

HurdyGurdy19 · 13/04/2024 12:10

I've read both previous threads (so THAT'S where my Saturday morning went!) and I was going to suggest pitching the idea to Netflix. But the West End is just as good (and easily accessible for me for opening night)

Just one thing occurred to me that you might not have thought about, and that's something I believe is known as "adverse possession"?

HTH - and looking forward to updates and an invitation to the ribbon cutting ceremony once you obtain possession of your own property.

But yeah - look into that adverse possession thing. Sounds like that might be a go-er.

Pleasehelpmefindagoodusername · 13/04/2024 12:11

Following with great interest and fascination

MmePoppySeedDefage · 13/04/2024 12:15

Can someone please link to the original thread? It sounds potentially fascinating

GodZilah · 13/04/2024 11:08

You're really dragging this out, eh.

Well there's a lot of <ahem> "plot" to cover. I can't remember how to hide threads.

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2024 12:17

OP, you need to get DH's friends to wander near the infamous plot. If Babs is there, they can have a loud convo about solicitor's letters and CFery.

Ach that's just you existing in the rational world.

I really really hope you are trying to be funny here but it’s wearing a bit thin.

Whhhhaaaat? Doesn’t everyone come on here exactly for the way these threads sometimes develop?
do you think op made the scenario up in order that she could then turn it into a comedy? If so, I’m still on board with it!

BettyBardMacDonald · 13/04/2024 12:30

LenaLamont · 13/04/2024 11:11

You concentrate on the West End casting, I’m working on the Hollywood remake.

If ‘We Bought A Zoo’ is anything to go by, at least one of you will have a spurious romance with Scarlet Johansson by the time it makes it to being green lit.

Edited

I'm thinking Kathy Bates as Babs. I think that's her name, the one from Misery.

HauntedBungalow · 13/04/2024 12:31

Misery, that's right.

Another2Cats · 13/04/2024 12:31

@April25istheperfectdate "Not I just don't like having my time wasted on a Jackanory thread I thought was genuine..."

and

"This thread has been reported..."

What about the OP's posts makes you believe that this is not genuine?

A serious question.

Lilmaubetden · 13/04/2024 12:32

I should really have better things to do with my time, but I don’t. So following.

I was thinking the same thing!

Picnic on the Plot!
