Dying of curiosity here, and hoping the OP is ok. I think giving Babs a month to clear off was far too generous; I would have hustled her off in a week.

I’d have lit a bonfire and smoked her out of her shed and away!

therealcookiemonster · 28/04/2024 15:45

I am sure it was still delicous

It’s a bit dense (like me!) but I’m still eating it! :)

EnglishBluebell · 28/04/2024 18:53

🤔📖

MissMoan · 28/04/2024 19:02

Maybe Babs has retaliated by cutting off all access to the internet

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/04/2024 19:38

Someone needs to check Babs' shed.

I had a go baking the cake, but I missed out the baking soda (is that bicarbonate of soda?) by accident and it came out quite flat :(

Yes, it's bicarb.

Baking powder and bicarbonate of soda are two different things.

Baking powder and bicarbonate of soda are two different things.

But I think both are required in the recipe.

Yes but baking soda and bicarbonate of soda are the same thing, as is bread soda.

Callipygion · 28/04/2024 21:26

Yes, you have to put both in, but I don’t remember adding the bicarbonate of soda so I think I did miss it out & my cakes were very flat. So sad. :(

On a happier note, I made a chocolate ganache to go on the top, instead of the buttercream, and it was amazing!

Sorry to hear that but glad to know you're heroically eating it anyway. Chocolate cake is chocolate cake... :)

If the OP doesn't return this is going to be something I wonder about for the rest of my life!

longapple · 29/04/2024 09:53

like the crows in the field, has anyone checked the allotment for crows?

LlynTegid · 29/04/2024 10:09

@YaMuvva updates (or that there is no update) most welcome.

Mistysmom · 29/04/2024 11:16

I'm so glad I'm not the only one invested here 🤣🤣

She has received the letter, according to the solicitor’s!! I’ve just rang them.

Ring doorbell is back in, spare battery is ordered but the weather has turned shit so no checking the patch out today!

Off on a tangent…but if your ring doorbell faces vaguely south, the solar chargers are amazing. It’s just a small solar frame the doorbell sits in. We've had our cameras, both doorbells and separate camera for nearly two years and have only had to charge one of them once and that particular one gets a lot of use!

OVienna · 29/04/2024 14:10

If legal letters are flying around on both sides I doubt very much the OP will be able to post anything until it's all resolved....

Agree, in fact I am slightly surprised she hasn’t asked Mumsnet to pull the threads. Perhaps she doesn’t realise you can.

TimeandMotion · 29/04/2024 16:21

There is no rule against posting publicly about correspondence between lawyers. It’s not wise to post about the advice your own lawyer has given you, because it could make public information about weaknesses in your case and it arguably means you have waived privilege in all subsequent advice you may get. However OP has, so far, told us only that she has been advised that she has an extremely strong case to get Babs off the land.

I think OP said in an early post that she was not remotely concerned about being identifiable.

MRSRUDEBOX · 29/04/2024 17:21

I think OP is waiting for something worthwhile to tell us and will be back then.

OVienna · 29/04/2024 18:20

If things are getting super ugly she may have changed her mind about being identifiable.

Also in terms of discussing the case publicly while there may not be a specific rule against it from a common sense perspective, updating when things are done and dusted is probably advisable.

Sure. But just clarifying that we are not in a situation akin to not being able to comment on a criminal case until after the trial, for example.

anyolddinosaur · 29/04/2024 20:58

Babs has buried her in the allotment.

You're telling me the NCA isn't watching this like a HAWK?!

FriendofDorothy · 30/04/2024 12:59

I am very invested in the outcome of this now.
