I've read all three threads and I'm shocked at the number of posters saying the OP is unreasonable and poor Barbara losing her sanctuary when Barbara's reaction was to tell the OP and her DH it was hers they would need to fight her for it when its their fucking land! Had Barbara been reasonable and asked for a month or two to save what can be saved and replant but she didn't. You can't tell someone they can't have and use their own land its cheeky and entitled!

@YaMuvva YANBU between Babs and the other neighbour being pissed off he can't continue to store his shit in your garage I'm not surprised the previous owner sold up and moved 50 milles away they were all taking the piss and being cheeky. Surely other posters realise that those neighbours knew the house was up for sale meaning the new owners wouldn't want their crap in the garage and want their land.

I think the previous owner didn't forget I think she agreed to keep it quiet so Barbara can keep the land and you would be none the wiser if this turns into a battle make sure you bill her solicitors since she went to the effort to conceal it from you. Also after Barbara's rude and cheeky fucker response I'd be giving her a week to remove her stuff or you will its your land not hers and she has no right to tell you no and to fight her for it she's a rude, entitled cheeky fucker!

I do hope OP intends to make a massive salad with her future produce 😁🥗

He's been in loads of other stuff apart from Downton Abbey. I recognised him in DA as the guy who played Liam Connor in Coronation Street some years earlier.

This has now taken on such a life of it's own no update will be able to do it justice. I'm afraid we have backed OP into a corner. If they are having reasonable discussions with Babs now, it'll be such a let down. Sorry, nothing less than a Kill Bill showdown among the zucchini will do at this point.

PrettySenior is of course right...Babs should be given the allotment, a set of new garden tools and the keys to the OP's house as well. Oh, and the OP should give her a monthly allowance to buy seeds and plants. Anything else you'd like her to have? What will you be contributing, PrettySenior?

Let's ignore the fact that Babs of course knew that it wasn't her plot anyway and must have known what would happen if the previous owner sold up.

It has been gorgeous again with smatterings of rain but we’ve had in laws coming to visit - we did consider having a trip to the allotment with them as they are amazing gardeners and have a lovely patch of their own but didn’t wanna risk another run in with Babs. Especially with FIL in tow who is an angry Scot that would have not minced his words with her. They have an allotment BTW and their allotment is a big part of their social life, and they have said that in our circumstances them and other allotment owners would find it totally reasonable to reclaim our land.

PS I promise that once we get our allotment back I will post a picture of us feet up in deckchairs, flasks in hand

I love Ken Stott, so that's a big thumbs up from me.

I'd go Sam West for the garage thief because I have a bit of a crush on him too (especially as Siegfried in All Creatures) but Rory's a fine actor and will do well, of course.
