many lovely things have been discontinued that I really enjoyed growing up, Burton's potato puffs, the original Ringos crisps as they were in the 80s & early 90s. Topic bars, Riva chocolate bars. plus many many more
what do you really miss that they no longer make?

Agree re Cheese Moments. Best savoury snack ever!

Gutter to hear Crispy Rolls are discontinued.

I remember Spira fondly but wondering what the difference is between that and a Twirl?

asbestosmouth24 · 12/04/2024 23:40

Spira's were great and only 20p from what I remember.

Galaxy truffles from Celebrations tubs

Proper lemon puffs with the caramelised sugar on top. I bought a couple of packets months ago in Home Bargains of all places, but they were small, lemon middle was thin and not very lemony and the biscuit used to sandwich the lemon cream were more like Ritz crackers.

Custard donuts with a decent custard to dough ratio. Today's custard donuts are too stingy with the custard. Gregg's do a decent caramel iced one, but I just want a plain one with custard in the middle.

Jalapeno flavoured Kettle Chips. Pipers Jalapeno and Dill will have to do for now, but doesn't come close.

Have you tried Morrisons? They're usually very generous with fillings

LifeAtForty · 12/04/2024 23:43

Doritos 3D

Howtonamechange · 12/04/2024 23:43

I have fond memories of having Sara Lee pecan danish cake from ?Iceland with my father. Does anyone else remember those?

mlc0 · 12/04/2024 23:44

Choccy cupcakes

FatOaf · 12/04/2024 23:45
  • Real Monster Munch, not the over-aerated, over-crispy stuff they have now
  • Texan bars
  • Cadbury's Bar Six - my favourite chocolate wafery thing ever
  • Terry's Waifa - my second-favourite chocolate wafery thing ever and much nicer than Kit Kat, which drove it out of the market
  • Mint Cracknel
  • Pink Panther candy bars (not the pink wafers)
  • fruit pastilles, fruit jellies, etc., without the horrid aftertaste that present-day ones have
  • Spangles (original and Old English)
asbestosmouth24 · 12/04/2024 23:46

This is quite niche but M&S Gefilte fish balls. A staple of my life for over 15 years now just gone.

Thanks. We don't have a Morrison's near us, but PILs do, so next time I'm there, I know what I'll be getting as holiday treats! 😁

FatOaf · 12/04/2024 23:47

Tomato snaps

There are plenty of shops that still sell these. The Spar next to me has them.

RubyGemStone · 12/04/2024 23:48

Also Mars Delight, and like a PP Milky Way Crispy Rolls, if they are still around I never bloody see them. Would love to find them again.

Rolypolyfishheads · 12/04/2024 23:50

Drifter.
Time Out.
Quorn nuggets with cheese inside them.
There used to be a frozen baguette thing, a bit like garlic bread but without the garlic and filled with cheese all the way through, that was absolutely perfect 🤤 I would love to have that back. Also Burger King Bean burger and the white chocolate and raspberry pie that was very recently at McDonald's for a short while.

I remember Spira fondly but wondering what the difference is between that and a Twirl?

As far as I can recall, Spira were spiral column shaped and had holes.

You've just reminded me, the other thing that has been discontinued is Cadbury's chocolate that tastes like Cadbury's chocolate circa 80s and 90s. All tastes very sickly and sugary these days.

I also miss Snow Flake. They were popular in the early 00s.

They sell milky rolls in a sweet shop in my town for about £5 EACH 😵‍💫

Notinmylifethyme · 12/04/2024 23:52

@asbestosmouth24 i saw the header and immediately thought of the salt and vinegar puffs we used to buy from the bakers. 5p a bag as I recall.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 12/04/2024 23:53

Sara Lee chocolate gateau.

Glitterybee · 12/04/2024 23:57

omg yes Riva chocolate biscuit bars! They remind me so much of visiting my nana in the 80s/90s

They were the best!

Also the original time outs - the current wafer type bars are rubbish in comparison 😢

longtompot · 13/04/2024 00:02

Phineas fog Pom purri crisps
The not Angel Delight, but like it, that you made with water and was in lemon and strawberry flavours.

Cadburys from the Ireland still tastes like it did circa 80s/90s

we can buy the standard UK bars here, but also a rectangle shaped bar with larger squares - it tastes EXACTLY how cadburys used to 😍

See image below for example - Irish cadburys in the middle, vs the current rounder shaped UK bars. Honestly if you get a chance to purchase the Irish version do it, yoI’ll not be disappointed

All these things too easily forgotten! Yes to Toffos, and the assorted flavour tubes of them,

@OmniPresents - yes! Mignons Morceaux was one of the things I came to say and @FatOaf Spangles was another! Life would be better with them back (unchanged please)!

Not sure if I missed anyone say it but those Fabulous Bakin Boys cupcakes - you could get normal or slightly smaller and they were always super tasty, yet to find a replacement 😔

pelotonaddiction · 13/04/2024 00:06

@xsquared oh definitely try
Their cream cake range is great and the salt and pepper bread is addictive
