I’ll start with Ryan Reynolds. He honestly seems completely down to earth, responsive to his fans and likes to have a good joke at his own expense

People already have said mine but I was going to say keanu reeves too !

TheComplexBear · 04/04/2024 13:46

And as for genuinely good, Joanna Lumley. I know people who have worked with her, in her support of the Gurkhas and they have nothing but praise for her both in terms of the level of support she gave and also how she interacted with everyone involved.

Gabby Logan

IamaRevenant · 04/04/2024 13:53

Dolly is an obvious one.

James Blunt is hilarious if you can ignore his crimes against music.

I'm not a particular fan but the Beckhams have been 'outed' a few times for quietly making massive donations to terminally ill kids and charity in general

Stickycurrantbun · 04/04/2024 13:58

Jamie Dornan. Down to earth. Funny. Doesn't take himself too seriously. Talks lovingly about his wife and kids.

IAmThe1AndOnly · 04/04/2024 13:58

Rod Stewart.

isitbananatimealready · 04/04/2024 13:59

On the whole, most of them. They will be famous because they have made huge achievements in their lives, and didn't set out to become famous for the sake of it.

Politicians and some of the 'famous for being famous' reality tv types... I'm not so sure!

J K Rowling. No explanation needed.

Jamie Dornan. I always think he comes across as genuine and down to earth in interviews. His desert island discs episode was lovely.

Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothy. They’ve done a lot of good for poverty and homelessness through their foundation.

Millie Bobby Brown. She seems lovely, down to earth and a huge animal lover.

Taylor Swift. She seems to have good morals and stands up for what she believes in.

I've never met Jamie Dornan but worked with his cousin for a few years (during the 50 shades period 😅). If his cousin (who is basically identical) is anything to go by I'm sure Jamie is lovely!

KevinDeBrioche · 04/04/2024 14:05

Agree with lots of these. Also Andy Murray.

Surprised by all the love for Ricky Gervais.

Friend said he expects things done for him because he's famous.

An animal lover does not always equate to a nice/good person.

Agreed.

TheComplexBear · 04/04/2024 14:07

I was in pieces listening to Jamie Dornan's Desert Island Discs, so emotional. He comes across so well and talks so lovingly about all of his family.

awopbopaloobopawopbamboom · 04/04/2024 14:13

Joanna Lumley is absolutely gorgeous. Friendly, beautiful and just w wonderful human being!!

Paul O Grady, Yes!

Wasn't he a massive coke head back in the day?

Same. It was very emotional to listen to. He seems really lovely.

CactusMactus · 04/04/2024 14:18

Oh also, Jonathan Ross is apparently a complete knob. My dad worked with him during the 90's and said he was awful to everyone.

The one-time female impersonator? Hmmm...

He just announced that both he and his wife only shower once a week. I mean why?

Phil Spencer. Always polite and pleasant

I went right off Phil Spencer when I found that he was into blood sports. A photo emerged a few years ago of him holding a deer that he'd shot and grinning because he was so pleased with himself.

JK Rowling.

Ricky Gervais

He’s a nobhead.

TallulahDoris · 04/04/2024 14:29

Kylie Minogue

IamaRevenant · 04/04/2024 14:31

JMSA · 04/04/2024 14:06

Agreed.

I actually don't mind Ricky but the animal lover argument could equally apply to Hitler and his alsation.

Not the greatest argument.

kinkyredboots · 04/04/2024 14:33

Simon Reeve
David Attenburgh
Keanu Reeves

The one-time female impersonator? Hmmm...

I find drag acts incredibly offensive... it's literally men taking the piss out of women.
It should be seen as outdated and offensive as Black Face (sorry, that term is horrid in itself... but so is 'Drag Queen')...

MrsKeats · 04/04/2024 14:38

I have a friend that worked with Paul O'Grady who confirmed he is indeed lovely.
Mark Ruffalo I think is great.
