I’ll start with Ryan Reynolds. He honestly seems completely down to earth, responsive to his fans and likes to have a good joke at his own expense

Dolly
JKR
David Attenborough
Keanu
Tom Hanks
Michaela Strachan
Juliet Stevenson
Tom Holland
Carey Mulligan (I have no basis for this, I just find her incredibly charismatic and charming)
The Rock

MrsKeats · 04/04/2024 14:41

Oh yes to Andy Murray. He's vocal about the importance of women's sport.

mrsnjw · 04/04/2024 14:42

Rod Stewart is local to me. I've never seen him in the village but everyone that has always says how lovely he is and very down to earth .

misseckleburg · 04/04/2024 14:45

Dermot O'Leary seems like a good egg.

Totally agree with this. I know George had his problems in later years but all the stuff that came out after he died about what he did was just so heartwarming. And not even ‘just’ giving money away - he actually went and helped at soup kitchens and homeless shelters and made people keep it to themselves.

And yep, the same with Paul O’Grady. I don’t know as much about him as I did George but I always loved watching him. He seemed like someone you could sit and put the world to rights with for hours on end.

I like what George said when asked if he was angling for an invitation to William and Kate's wedding. He was very self aware. It's sad he's gone.

P!nk is fabulous. I've met her a couple of times.

I was in pieces listening to Jamie Dornan's Desert Island Discs, so emotional. He comes across so well and talks so lovingly about all of his family.

I can confirm that he is lovely irl

SpeedwellBlue · 04/04/2024 14:57

Sandi Toksvig, Judi Love

Gabby Logan

I already didn't like her after her attitude while she was doing Strictly and my opinion was confirmed when many years later my husband was working in Women's football World Cup in France and said she looked at everyone like they were covered in shit.

He now works at the Beeb and said her reputation precedes her, if you know what I mean. Massive bitch

Badlands1 · 04/04/2024 15:04

Few I have met/worked with and a few from a friend
Rylan -lovely through and through
Kevin McCloud - very pleasant and normal
Gillian Anderson and Miriam Margoyles complete nightmares in different ways
Bill Murray - really really odd

Pluviophile1 · 04/04/2024 15:17

I agree with a few of those mentioned.
Also:
Kate Winslet
Paul Rudd
David & Georgia Tennant
Emma Stone

Pinkypurplewall · 04/04/2024 15:19

I never liked Ricky Gervais much but he donated £2million to worldwide animal charities from the profits generated by his last tour. I thought was an amazing thing to do.

MaidOfSteel · 04/04/2024 15:20

JK Rowling.

Jaboody · 04/04/2024 15:21

Kevin Von Erich (80s wrestler) comes across as a lovely man despite all he's been through.

Ewan Mitchell (Aemond, House of Dragon) seems like a really nice guy too, just very shy and private.

Let’s add Sharron Davies and Daley Thompson to that list as well please.

I know Elton John has been a foul mouthed junkie in the past , but he has managed to stay sober for a great many years, and his Foundation has raised millions and millions for AIDS research.

SpanishTale · 04/04/2024 15:25

Kylie Minogue for me.

daisychain01 · 04/04/2024 12:21

Esther Rantzen

She had an affair with a married man for years, eventually they got married. Not sure that is the sign of a good person.

dizzydizzydizzy · 04/04/2024 15:25

I have bumped into Joe Sugg and Noel Fitzpatrick. DD2 is a fan of both and they were both very friendly and chatty, allowed us to take photos etc.

Went off Kate Winslett when she tried to block public access to a beach near her house, can’t remember the whole story, but the access was a fact long before she bought the house, ditto Madonna for something similar. you want privacy fair enough, then use your millions to buy somewhere that doesn’t have public access/ footpaths in place.

Sago1 · 04/04/2024 12:24

JKR, Stacey Solomon, Stacey Dooley, Fiona Bruce, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Cher.

That would be the same Fiona Bruce who had to step down as ambassador for a DV charity after saying on Newsnight that Stanley Johnson had only broken his wife’s nose once.

Tattletwat · 04/04/2024 15:27

Emelia Clarke seems lovely and sweet.

Alan Rickman was meant to been lovely.

Steve Buscemi is meant to be brilliant.

Yes, that isn't good. Didn't know that.

Madonna is a definite arsehole though. A trailblazer who I admire in lots of ways, but undoubtedly an arsehole.

KLM2023 · 04/04/2024 15:30

Dolly.
I would be devastated if I ever heard anything to the contrary!

TheaBrandt · 04/04/2024 15:32

Emma Thompson is really nice. Also Helena Bonham Carter (personal experience used to live in luvvie land)

Terraz · 04/04/2024 15:32

Emma Thompson.
