1/4 of a large one (mini eggs).

Ttc125 · 30/03/2024 19:35

I didn’t realise you had to wait till Easter Sunday to eat the eggs . In the shopping centre since yesterday and today they’ve had Easter bunny running about handing out eggs ! Like those wee mini ones, and everyone was eating them ! Didn’t know it was a thing to wait tbh ! Easter eggs are usually on shelves by January here !

Okay guys I know it’s Easter tomorrow jeez ! 😆 some like to eat theirs early 🤣

Omg OP. Did you know know it's Easter TOMORROW?!

honestly, what's with the passive aggressive replies people?!

We actually did our children's hunt today because we are having a night away tonight and won't be there in the morning to do it. So I ate quite a lot today to stop the kids eating so many. I was out last night and came home half cut and did a fabulous job hiding eggs absolutely everywhere lol

Well my self imposed rules are...

Mini eggs can be eaten anytime and all year round if available
Creme eggs can be eaten when you receive them but buying one for yourself is weird.
Eggs that come in a cardboard box cant be started until Easter Sunday and you have to finish one and all its extra bits before opening another one.

StBernie · 30/03/2024 19:39

Ate half of mine yesterday and will eat the rest tonight! I also enjoyed a creme egg earlier. No guilt here, it was tasty.

kitsuneghost · 30/03/2024 19:41

I had a small reece egg and x hot cross bun but we don't swap big eggs until tomorrow

Isometimeswonder · 30/03/2024 19:42

Don't care what day it is... I think any day is fine! Started my Lindt choc bunny yesterday.

spidermonkeys · 30/03/2024 19:42

I didn't know so many people waited! A chocolate bunny today. The kids have Ahmad a few in the go all week. I've been helping them eat them !

Deardear17 · 30/03/2024 19:42

My toddler had a first Easter last year and got a dark chocolate chick egg with buttons.
I didn’t open it right away because she was sick and she had such a little amount at a time and sometimes I forgot about it was only finished a few days ago 😂
(it lived in the fridge btw)

Well done mumsnetters. You never fail to be predictable despite me hanging about here for nearly 20 years

To be fair most people give each other eggs on Easter Sunday so unless you are buying them just to eat yourself, you are unlikely to have any to eat.

My grandmother hands out Easter eggs the week before Easter , my uncle gave out a bunch of eggs at his wedding for the kids middle of March !

If you don't eat a few in advance how do you know whether you'll actually like them on the day?! It seems like sensible forward planning to me.

Ttc125 · 30/03/2024 19:47

Okay guys seeing as Easter is tomorrow , what did every body have for their dinner ? Let’s change the convo a bit 🤣🤣

I agree with all those 😁

None, it’s Easter Sunday tomorrow not today. Would be like opening presents on Christmas Eve.

43ontherocksporfavor · 30/03/2024 19:51

I had chicken skewers with salad and bulgur wheat.
