Curious 😆 how many and what type ?
I had half of a cadburys crunchie egg, so high in sugar so don’t know if i wanna eat the rest yet , but I’m so tempted 😭

I’ve had a choc orange Easter egg so far and about 1 million mini eggs

APurpleSquirrel · 30/03/2024 17:49

None today. I finished off a Lindt Golden Bunny bar at lunchtime though.
Tomorrow I'll be getting a Lindt Lindor Salted Caramel Egg.

QueSyrahSyrah · 30/03/2024 17:49

Today none (so far) but I did treat myself to a small Leonidas one as I was passing the shop as it's my favourite chocolate in the world.

That brings my total of eggs still to eat to 5, and one already eaten.

I bought 3 of them for myself, but in my defence I'm pregnant with a raging sweet tooth and over Easter weekends in the past I'd probably have got through more calories (and £s!) in wine than I will in chocolate!

So you've been told off multiple times for eating them early and shamed by one poster who doesn't touch chocolate.

That'll teach you OP with your mild/innocent thread!!

I do wish we could have a 'How very Mumsnet!' button on responses just like the Thanks button.

Chocolate in shell shape seems to taste better than in bar form. I have heard they use a different recipe which may explain why. I'm tempted to pop over the road and grab one but Norrisons are charging £3.50 for a shell+1 bar which seems steep.

Pascha · 30/03/2024 17:49

I had a creme egg in the car earlier as compensation for braving Tesco on a Saturday.
Ds2 has eaten two proper size ones this week from school. Everything else they'll get tomorrow.

I don't have Easter eggs for me. I'd rather have a big bar of fruit & nut.

Wishimaywishimight · 30/03/2024 17:50

My lovely MIL gave me a Cadbury Creme egg egg! DH has one for me but I won't get it til tomorrow.

Okay guys I know it’s Easter tomorrow jeez ! 😆 some like to eat theirs early 🤣

Well we saw some family today so my first one is in the cupboard waiting until the kids go to bed 😁then I shall indulge!

YouAndMeAndThem · 30/03/2024 17:51

I gave my kids a bag of Easter craft stuff and their Easter eggs yesterday. Specifically so I could eat mine after bedtime last night.

It's a Cadbury mini egg one, but the shell of the egg has micro mini eggs inside it 🥰 had 1/4 last night and planning more tonight.

FloatyBoaty · 30/03/2024 17:52

DS and I have been sharing a small Easter egg every saturday night since they appeared in the shops, instead of ice cream or whatever for pudding 😁(so since Christmas really!)

We’ve laid off this week though because it might make Easter Sunday eggs feel less special (our house, our logic!)

Ankylo · 30/03/2024 17:54

I'm not against eating them early but I haven't yet had any. If I didn't have a toddler I probably would have by now. I have to hide all evidence of chocolate as he loves it!

PracticallyPerfectedIt · 30/03/2024 17:54

I'm not sure OP has been 'told off' or shamed... I think it's fairly standard practice to eat Easter eggs on or after Easter Sunday. You can eat them earlier, it's not illegal, but I think it's pretty normal not to 🤷🏻‍♀️ it's hardly peak Mumsnet to describe a practice that, in all likelihood, millions of people adhere to.

Ruminate2much · 30/03/2024 17:55

No Easter eggs, but a ludicrous amount of hot cross buns! About five! 🤭 I'm trying to use them up you understand...

RicePuddingWithCinnamon · 30/03/2024 17:56

One massive Lindt one. A handful of mini eggs. Going to balance it out with something savoury now some crisps

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 30/03/2024 17:57

None. Dh had better have got one for me for tomorrow, though, or I’ll have to eat the one I got for him.

I love this. Good for you. I might follow your example next year.

KohlaParasaurus · 30/03/2024 17:59

None yet. Hoping for some chocolatey bargains after Easter.

Itsmeamandaberry · 30/03/2024 18:00

Small Fredo egg in one sitting. Was so good

AnAwfulPerson · 30/03/2024 18:03

I've eaten one. It was calling to me. I'm sure Jesus doesn't mind.

Eviebeans · 30/03/2024 18:04

A Lindt salted caramel bunny

meemyselffandI · 30/03/2024 18:04

I ate half of a Cadury's Buttons egg yesterday, despite not liking the chocolate that much anymore. I blame my hormones tbf ConfusedHmmEaster Grin

chocopuffs · 30/03/2024 18:05

I love that someone came on just to say they rarely eat chocolate Grin. Why bother?!

Deliadidit · 30/03/2024 18:06

None today but yesterday a whole Malteser egg - yes I know how horrendous this is and that it was actually a days calories but that’s it now till next year! 😄 Hope that makes you feel less alone OP

BeaRF75 · 30/03/2024 18:07

Like everyone else, none - Easter Day is not until tomorrow.
But I did have a hot cross bun 🙂

haveyoutriedturningitoffandonagain · 30/03/2024 18:08

None you only eat them on Easter day. One hot cross bun on good Friday then you must wait to break lent until Sunday

bakewellbride · 30/03/2024 18:08

I had half an egg. I know I should probably save the other half until tomorrow but I'm weak so will probably finish it tonight once the kids are in bed
