It's Count Binface/Lord Buckethead for me. I don't think he could do a worse job than his predecessors.

Anyone but Khan.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 30/03/2024 12:12

I hope Khan gets in again, there's going to be nothing like watching racists and racist apologists lose their mind if he gets in for a third term and they'll go around throwing around words like dictatorship and islamists 🙄

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 30/03/2024 12:15

I live so far from London, I’ve no idea who any of them are but if Count Binface is a real person then I want him to win just for his name 😂.

Blackcats7 · 30/03/2024 12:42

I don’t live in London but wouldn’t be voting for either Khan or Hall.

Boomer55 · 30/03/2024 12:43

Anyone but Khan. He’s been hopeless in every way, and ULEZ is just the icing on the cake.😡

TBF a lot of Londoners don't want Khan because of their lived experience of what's happened to London and Londoners under his policies.
A fair number of them aren't white and are Muslim. The dislike of him as mayor in many quarters has absolutely nothing to do with race, or religion and is coming from people who previously voted for him.

Aliceisagooddog · 30/03/2024 12:58

Ex labour member, I probably won't vote for Khan because of many reasons, but he's actually he's done lots of good things for London. ULEZ has definitely improved the air quality. Free school meals for all primary children. Kept public transport costs low. So.much of the criticism of him is so obviously racist, from those who don't even live in London!

zaxxon · 30/03/2024 13:04

Definitely Khan. I love that he powered through the ULEZ - this is the kind of pro- climate leadership we need.

He has also done wonders for cycling infrastructure in London. It's so much better now than it ever was before. Has made a big difference to my daily life.

Zoe Garbett (greens) seems pretty good too, but I'm not sure she would stand up to the Tories in quite the way Khan does.

Crunchymum · 30/03/2024 13:08

Controversially I'll probably vote for Khan.

I'm not fully decided yet but I won't vote for the Tory candidate.

TheRainItRaineth · 30/03/2024 13:15

Obviously Khan. He has done a good job on a number of levels in difficult circumstances.

LipstickLil · 30/03/2024 13:18

God knows, but Khan hasn't been great and most of those people on that list wouldn't have the first idea how to run a city like London. It really needs to be someone with serious political and leadership experience, not some 25-year-old, blue-haired eco-warrior.

anniegun · 30/03/2024 13:21

Khan, just so Hall does not get in

WhatsTheUseOfWorrying · 30/03/2024 13:22

I really see the vote as being ‘how much does running a car matter to you?’.

No mayor can really do anything about crime, whatever they say. So I don’t hold that against Sadiq Khan. Similarly, a capital city of several million people has its own tensions and problems that are on the whole solved by people themselves rather than by political policies and advertising gimmicks. London Transport will tick over irrespective of who’s the mayor.

The one big difference is that Khan, and probably the Green candidate, see restrictions on cars as being environmentally and socially beneficial (if you’re charitable) or a useful revenue earner (if you’re being uncharitable). Since ULEZ expansion cost us thousands to dispose of a perfectly good car and get a different one, I won’t be voting for Khan.

Darker · 30/03/2024 13:23

Khan. Londoner here. Lots of things I don’t like but to be frank I don’t think anyone else would have done a better job given the challenges.

dameofdilemma · 30/03/2024 13:25

A candidate who actually likes London and understands the levels of poverty and that most Londoners are not millionaire bankers.

There's enough London bashing from the rest of the country, we don't need it from the Mayor too.

OVienna · 30/03/2024 13:31

I'm voting for the Lib Dem candidate.

RosaRoja · 30/03/2024 13:34

Oh, no. Fox hasn’t made it on the list. He seems like a competent bloke.

People protesting against ULEZ where I live are the same ones who protested about the vaccine long after the end of the epidemic. “Don’t put rubbish in our children’s bodies!” “Yes, put rubbish in our children’s bodies!” Or words to that effect. I think they’re the same ones as they had the same yellow and black placards and congregated at the same crossroads on a Sunday afternoon.

DrawersOnTheDoors · 30/03/2024 13:50

Khan obviously since Susan Hall is another batshit Tory.

Yeah, my opposition to Khan’s anti-car initiatives does flag a bit when I see reports of these vigilante fools.

But I genuinely fear that anyone who needs a car is going to be punished harshly financially in the next few years if he gets back in. Taxing cars - by use of penalties - is the only real financial lever the mayor’s got. Most of the boroughs are increasingly likely to join in with LTNs and ever more traffic penalties. At some point it will break.

custardlover · 30/03/2024 13:53

I'm a Londoner. I think the ULEZ is good and will be backing Khan 100%.

suburburban · 30/03/2024 13:56

PBandJ111 · 30/03/2024 12:08

Anyone but Khan.

Definitely

BasiliskStare · 30/03/2024 14:29

Not Khan - Never mind about ULEX I know people who live in London who think his policies on bus routes are pretty poor.

BearSoFair · 30/03/2024 14:35

Khan again. 100%.

Username947531 · 30/03/2024 14:40

Howard Cox.

BringMeSunshineAllDayLong · 30/03/2024 14:45

Given that Khan has stuck to ULEZ despite all the crazies and reduced air pollution more than any other policy in the last 100 years I think he deserves more time.
