I can’t stand micro fibre. It makes me my skin crawl, my fingers curl and my spine literally shudders.

I was thinking this week how wool can feel wonderful to me and then when the temp changes, even if I'm cold, it feels too wrong for words, but cotton knitwear does nothing for me. Man-made fabrics feel to me like I'm wearing the equivalent of nails down a chalkboard. Then there's seam placement, a whole other fiasco!

Sandpaper or anything similar! 🤢

SueSheeMee · 14/03/2024 18:53

Sandpaper and wire wool

WellThisIsFun1 · 14/03/2024 18:54

Wet tissue

Timefordrama · 14/03/2024 18:54

Felt - sets my teeth on edge. And microfibre makes my hands dry out.

XFiler · 14/03/2024 18:55

Cotton wool

FUBAR77 · 14/03/2024 18:55

Polystyrene - literally makes my mouth itch. The sound of it is excruciating and even thinking about it makes me feel 🤢

Frostynight · 14/03/2024 18:55

Wet wool

RainbowZebraWarrior · 14/03/2024 18:58

Lots, but my main ones are:

Bricks
Sandpaper, including emery boards
Newspaper
Soap powder (dry or wet / dissolved in water. I can't hand wash because of this)
Soil
Sand

Billoddiesbeard · 14/03/2024 18:59

Cotton wool here too 🤢

RainbowZebraWarrior · 14/03/2024 18:59

And yes to microfibre cloths. Horrid texture and 'catch' on dry skin.

Ponderingwindow · 14/03/2024 18:59

Lots, but my tops are pencils and cardboard. I don’t even like being on the same room. They both make my teeth hurt.

Sunny06 · 14/03/2024 19:00

Flour! It sends shivers down my side

PoundlandColumbo · 14/03/2024 19:00

Polystyrene gives me the heebie jeebies

Hoppitybobbins · 14/03/2024 19:00

Cotton wool, one of my first memories as a kid was hating the stuff and not being able to touch it. It’s got better over the years i actually use it sometimes. Also wet wool, the thought of biting down in it!! Horrific!!!

jackstini · 14/03/2024 19:01

Tapestry, like on carpet bags - just rough and ick

TFMinx · 14/03/2024 19:01

Thought of another one: food in water, like at the end of washing up 🤢. Thank you for dish washers!

TroysMammy · 14/03/2024 19:02

Tinsel. Ugh!

My niece doesn't like the feel of towels. I found this out when I noticed wet hand prints smeared along the walls when she came downstairs after she had been to the toilet. Well I hope it was tap water.

LindorDoubleChoc · 14/03/2024 19:03

Damp towels, damp bathmats, damp dish cloths, damp washing up sponges.

In the kitchen I wear Marigold gloves, in the bathroom I am fanatical about getting towels and bathmats dry between uses.

BangaloreLulu · 14/03/2024 19:04

The thought of touching peaches, any type of apples with rough skin, like russets or cox's orange pippins, any kind of pears, and unwashed/dusty potatoes (like the ones you choose for yourself in the greengrocer's) gives me goosebumps and makes me shudder. I can handle any amount of polystyrene, sandpaper, wool, hessian, felt etc. though!

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 14/03/2024 19:06

Brillo pads urgh

DH can’t bear touching the paper round butter 🫤

NuffSaidSam · 14/03/2024 19:07

Polystyrene

Dry sponge, the man-made ones, natural sponge is fine.
