I can’t stand micro fibre. It makes me my skin crawl, my fingers curl and my spine literally shudders.

Penis. Might explain why I'm single. 😂

Wet wool

Yup. Wet wool socks in particular.

And crisp crumbs, I can't eat crisps without having a damp cloth to wipe my fingers every time I touch them!

KirstenBlest · 14/03/2024 20:25

The mouth-feel of egg custard (custard tart or savoury flan), and also fish.

CanaryCanary · 14/03/2024 20:30

Mohair, itchy wool, cotton wool, butter, flour.

Could be worse - I have a primary age child who can’t stand touching paper which is making school pretty difficult.

Polystyrene
Cotton wool
Raw chicken

A really weird one I have is that I specifically cannot look at or think about kitchen roll / toilet roll (clean) while eating an apple 🤣. It really makes me shudder and cringe. It happened at work when I was eating my apple at lunch and someone wiped the table with blue roll. Had to act normal as it's quite a new job

When I saw the title of the thread I immediately thought of microfibre. I hate it. I have a towel for my hair and it gives me goosebumps every time I use it.

MuggedByReality · 14/03/2024 20:43

Another vote for cotton wool. Can’t stand the stuff. I have never bought it, and there is none in my house.

Omgwhatthehell · 14/03/2024 20:45

Cloth bound books. I just can’t. I find touching them revolting.
also I hate stepping in liquid while wearing socks then getting soggy socks.

WolfFoxHare · 14/03/2024 20:46

Chenille 🤮

KirstenBlest · 14/03/2024 20:47

Cloth bound books - the rough ones

ImOddsAndEnds · 14/03/2024 20:48

Polystyrene for me too, makes me feel sick and shuddery just thinking about the noise and feel of it.

Also the feel of dry hands/feet against a mattress or quilt that have no sheets on 🤢

Caswallonthefox · 14/03/2024 20:56

My son has a deep dislike of velor (?), the fuzzy stuff mostly used on sofas. I had to get a throw so he could sit.
T'other son doesn't like the texture of raw chicken. I'm not fond of it, but its what I mostly eat so I suppose I've got used to it.

shentok · 14/03/2024 21:00

Another vote for chalk. I find it affects my breathing when I touch it.

JaneKatSuttonGoals · 14/03/2024 21:07

Dry sponge and foam make my toes curl.
Dd1 - unvarnished wood - wooden spoons/cutlery etc
Dd2 - velvet & velour - the tube & a trip to the theatre in summer is a nightmare for her

Soubriquet · 14/03/2024 21:11

Yes to cotton wool too.

I also cannot stand touching paper if my hands have been recently wet. It sends shivers down my spine

Brillo pads they make my bones ache when I touch them. Flock wallpaper, it's not the soft flock stuff I don't like, it's the scratchy stuff underneath and inbetween I can't bear
the feel of. Polystyrene takeaway cartons, I can't stand them, other polystyrene is fine though. Bleachy water or neat bleach feels horrible to have my hands in.

Cotton wool

Edited

Same. Yeeuch. I cannot touch it. It's horrific.

TeabySea · 14/03/2024 21:13

Balls of cotton wool. Worse if they're damp. My teeth are on edge just thinking about it.

Devastated999 · 14/03/2024 21:15

Yes, I agree with the microfibre awfulness. It catches on my skin, and feels horrible.

Nylon cheapo PE bags

My own hands when I’ve washed them and sanitised them throughout the day at work (nurse)

minipie · 14/03/2024 21:15

Any surface with a thin layer of powder on it - like a dusty surface or a floury surface when baking. Makes me feel physically ill.

SwordToFlamethrower · 14/03/2024 21:15

Cotton wool

Lulu1919 · 14/03/2024 21:16

Micro fibre cloths
Raw chicken ...although I wear latex gloves

KitchenSinkLlama · 14/03/2024 21:17

Lots of things but the very worst is anything touching my feet. I can't stand anything other than shoes/socks touching my feet, which have to be very moisturised. The feel of dry skin on the soles of my feet keeps me awake - so they are very soft.

I can't stand walking on sand, walking in swimming pools, bathrooms other than my own. My feet are tingling with horror just thinking about it.

Tbh I have many sensory issues about many things - I can't wear jersey clothes- my pyjamas for example have to be poplin cotton and 4 sizes too big. I can't bear the feel of waistbands around my waist, but can't bear my legs to touch.

I have sensory issues with food too, but that is another story.

ThePoshUns · 14/03/2024 21:17

Human hair apart from my own
Cotton wool

Bessica · 14/03/2024 21:27

Milk, have never been able to stand it on my hands eg wiping up a spillage. Turned out I was dairy intolerant which is annoying as I love cheese!
