If you could live anywhere in the UK where would you go?

Currently considering a relocation from London and quite a free bird on location. Would love to know where everyone would love to move to!

Norfolk!

PleaseBeHappier · 11/03/2024 06:40

North Yorkshire ♥️

HereIgoagainonmyown237 · 11/03/2024 06:40

The Cotswolds

falalalalalalalallama · 11/03/2024 06:45

I was going to say Highgate!

Outside London, if I could live anywhere then Edinburgh or Brighton for city life.

For somewhere more rural, it's too hard to pick, sorry! There are so many places with stunning countryside but none of them I know well enough to recommend living in.

Good luck with the move!

I’d go to the coast around Newcastle - Whitley Bay / Tynemouth area. Beside the sea, easy access
to Northumberland, metro in the city centre for work and trains and access to the airport.

North Yorkshire ♥️

@PleaseBeHappier North Yorkshire is very large. Which area of North Yorkshire you recommend?

mynamechangemyrules · 11/03/2024 07:12

Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
By the sea on the south coast.

Bloomsbury. It ha# such a lovely feel, walkable to green spaces….but right Iin The centre.

Outside London. Lake District, north Lakes, less touristy.

or, as I’m in the north and it’s cold here at mo, Dorset. Must be warmer there surely.

I moved from London to Gosforth in Newcastle a year ago, and it's been one of the best things I've done. I've now the whole of Northumberland to explore, The Lake District is only an hour away, Edinburgh is 90 mins by train, and the beach is a 15-min drive. I've young children and there is just SO much for them to do here. The airport is also 15 minutes away.

It's made me realise that we put up with a lot in London thinking it's better. Yes, it is in some ways, but not for us. We used to live in NW London and had to make do with those small, local supermarkets. It's so lovely to be able to shop at a large supermarket again if we need to.

We can fly direct to the places we tend to holiday with the little ones. Of course, the huge con of moving up here is that we are farther from friends and family.. Otherwise, I love it here.

Santasbigredbobblehat · 11/03/2024 07:37

I was going to say Hampstead, in that case I’d go for Edinburgh!

canttellyouwhereorwhatido · 11/03/2024 07:46

What’s your budget OP ? Obvs you can move anywhere in the country…
It’s weird how literally southerners can move anywhere, the rest of us not so much 😂

LifesTooShortToLearnPolish · 11/03/2024 08:25

Pembrokeshire coast.
Or the northern lake district

LaWench · 11/03/2024 08:28

North Lakes. Stunning

TheFireflies · 11/03/2024 08:33

Edinburgh or Bath

weegiemum · 11/03/2024 08:35

I'd go back to the Outer Hebrides where we lived for 10 years (currently in Glasgow). In fact, it's our retirement plan, which is why we kept our house there. No Hearadh gu brath!

DanceToThisBeatForevermore · 11/03/2024 08:38

I would stay put, just where I am. Portobello in Edinburgh. Best place to live in the world and you couldn’t pay me to move away. Come and live here, it’s ace!

Unmute · 11/03/2024 08:39

Glasgow, where I currently live, but in a nicer/bigger flat.

It's the right distance from family, great arts and culture, friendly people, tons of green space.

TheFancyPoet · 11/03/2024 10:42

If you pay about 200 000 and above and hopefully can sell it, you can move anywhere
