Kate's photo appears "manipulated"?

Have just seen news saying that associated press have withdrawn photo as it appears "manipulated". V strange

If you look at the top of her head and George's chin, there's a weird chunk missing out of her hair as well. I was very sceptical at first but there are quite a few oddities, and I do think they've altered this more than just retouching.

Why don’t they just crop it to head and shoulders - then all the shit photoshop wouldn’t be visible. I agree it’s a professional shot with lighting, not a William shot. Weird.

Charlotte's skirt seems to be over the top of her cardigan here.

I have 3 kids, and I can NEVER get them all to do such beautiful smiles all at the same time. I did wonder whether they'd used that app/software that takes several shots and merges the "best" version of each person into one picture (and if so, maybe I should look into it myself!)

Tell you what, though - I've never been more grateful not to be a royal! I'm going to revel in not bothering to wash my hair, or wear any make-up for work tomorrow, and I might even wear those trousers that make my arse look proper massive - safe in the knowledge that no one will give a shiny shit.

If anyone knows anything about what tree/climber that is in the background that might be a clue. My grass is amazingly green, but my deciduous trees aren't budding properly yet (I'm in the south) and the light doesn't look right for this time of year (although that could be manipulated)

Actually the whole tiled area here looks a bit sus. The pattern appears to have been manipulated and not in a very good way either. There are grout marks in between the tile in the foreground tile of the photo, but none in the circled area.

They have pulled it but they aren't saying why. They can hardly say 'because we think Kate's face and hands have been slimmed down cos she looked puffier when we saw her on the school run. '. Not if they want William to let them use future pictures. The press and royals have a very symbiotic relationship.

I wonder if the press have worked out that the facial shot of Kate is from a previous engagement or photo shoot and is meant to deceive about how well she is or isn't?

Lying about the date of the photograph is probably the “offence” that led to this. She probably hasn’t posed for a photo since December. Journalists aren’t stupid, they know when they’re being mugged off.

I do think Kate's left jaw/cheek looks a bit unusual as well actually. Around the corner of her jaw.

But I am terrible at spotting photoshop even when people point it out! So her jaw is probably fine.

The fake bits are so obvious.

Id be amazed if she looks this well after major surgery and being in hospital for 2 weeks (though I realise it's not your typical hospital!)

Faces aren't usually symmetrical but in this picture the left side of Catherine's face is unusually larger than the right. Like the right has been slimmed down and not the left.

It's what you say. Reputable news doesn't want to use altered images in actual news reports. A Christmas card is very different to a supposedly recent photo showing her well.

That said- who cares? It's only been knocked up because obsessive weirdos can't cope with their favourite celeb being out of the news while she recovers from an operation and she's so image obsessed she can't cope with being photographed looking less than perfect.

The arm around Charlotte is very odd. It would have to be an incredibly short arm.

Once you look closely it's very clearly manipulated.

Good that the agencies aren't just playing PR and have given it the same treatment as they would a pic from any source, which is to order it be removed from use as it's not an accurate representation
