Maybe the driver’s asking, “Are we good to the left?”.

😁

I imagine she is turning her head so she isn't papped with a swollen face.i also think it's very possible she might be feeling low after major surgery, and pissed off that she has been pushed into showing she is not in a coma and not fallen out wit PW

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 11/03/2024 16:02

This family have successfully released appropriate photos for numerous occasions without anything or anyone looking out of place - so for this photo to be deemed acceptable, from the manipulation to the finger crossing, and for people to say oh the kids probably didn't all smile in the same photo, is ridiculous!

Actually there were suggestions their 2023 Christmas card had some dodgy photoshopping as well. There was also a photo of the queen and prince Phillip that people said had been edited, as well as the picture of the queen and all her great grandchildren which has a line down it very similar to the horizontal line on her jumper in Kate's Mother's Day picture.
I imagine W&K were hoping this one would be like the others - where the photoshop was commented on a bit online but didn't cause much of an issue or make much news, and was then forgotten.

Janiie · 11/03/2024 16:04

God, can you imagine if they'd been this hysteria over a doctored snap of Harry. Everyone would be a racist, a hater, a xenophobe, a bully. Yet W&K just have to take it.

Ive no idea what folk think they are hiding, she had an op 8weeks ago, they told us that! They told us she'd be recuperating until Easter, so that's no surprise. They release a pic for Mother's Day and omg the kids fingers are wrong, her zip is wrong, the tree is wrong Confused

Misses point

'Misses point'

There isn't a point, there is mass hysteria and outrage over a photoshopped pic. The 'news agencies' need to get a grip as do all those horrified over zips and fingers.

She’s had surgery. Many posters have guessed what. It’s not a hysterectomy. Or a facelift! It’s something that most women would find unpleasant to discuss. The poor woman is entitled to keep her medical history private. We do not need to know. I know because I was told. I didn’t ask. A loose-lipped person who works in a private hospital told me. I feel so sorry for her and hope she doesn’t read this awful salacious drooling speculation online. Divorces and mental breakdowns, comas and plastic surgery. Poor woman. Hillary Mantel was right. A royal bride is dehumanised, I can’t remember the line - something about being a jointed doll on which clothes are hung. But she is a woman like the rest of us, coping with illness in the face of unbearable scrutiny and intrusion. Would any of us be able to take it? And now this photograph nonsense. All because she felt hassled into making some sort of appearance to appease the great unwashed. She may well wonder if she should have been upfront about her surgery to begin with, but really, who could have imagined this level of public losing of the mind?!!

Gwan then tell us what she had done!

The point has been posted repeatedly all day on this thread and many others.

The photo was a lie. I'm sympathetic as to what they likely lied about and why, but it was a lie.

IvanIvan · 11/03/2024 16:10

FMLWTF How dare you. I wash my bedsheets every day.

Agree with ridiculous over investment of which we are both a part.

But I'm pleased news agencies draw a line in the sand about how far photos can be manipulated.

The issue isn't about a tree or a zip.

We have a "right"? Seriously?

They should not 'manipulate ' anything , the idea that their lives are not good enough they have to present to us the idea that everything that surrounds them is bloody perfect . Jeez Victoria would have had a field day with this sort of technology .

Agree. I think both William and Harry are the same. They want the glory but don't want any press scrutiny in return. William has had that for a long time because of Harry. Now he's getting it in spades.

"but really, who could have imagined this level of public losing of the mind?!!"

The British when it comes to the royal family? Everyone, I would have thought.

The poor bugger was never going to be given basic human consideration. Her privacy was never going to be respected. I'm sure she feels like shit and the last thing she needs now is more hassle. I'm guessing she's looking exactly how you'd expect someone to look after the major surgery she's had but you just know that a photo of her looking less than 'perfect' would be pulled to bits so yes, maybe she did try to cobble something together to get people off her back. But it was never going to work. Not with the amount of obsessive royal watchers involved and the money to be made in feeding them.

All of this.

Leave the lass alone for heaven's sake.

Janiie · 11/03/2024 16:15

'But I'm pleased news agencies draw a line in the sand about how far photos can be manipulated'

Well yes. An official event where a president is swapped for someone else, or say recreating a fake meeting, malicious intent to mislead all these things would be relevant to call out. Fingers, zips and plants not so much.

I clearly need to apply for a job advising these hot-headed news agency folk.

It probably doesn't rely on a judgement so as to avoid human prejudice.

Most likely a percentage.

it's good news for clarity and transparency.

Don't think you're an ideal candidate @Janiie

Will had said he rather not do it. They want a private life then he should abdicate of course he won't.

The whole modernisation has been a disaster. They should of let H&M be half in and out and making their own loony, why not that's quite modern for RF. Instead of leeching off taxpayers to be able to earn their own money even if it's off the back of the RF titles. Titles they just give themselves so who cares if they monetise it.

W&K coukd of done the same if they wanted to or at least with his brother still involved had them out and about more ro provide some additional cover while they stepped back due to her recovering.

This all came about because there slimmed down monarchy idea and both C & C having health issues at the same time, perfect storm that just shone a massive light and made people question the existence if the monarchy

The press know the real story and won’t be party to fake photos misleading the public intentionally.

The press are renowned for misleading the public especially if it fills their coffers.

I am no royalist. But if the woman has had bowel surgery, why can’t she be given peace and quiet? Surely we can all leave them be. Why the fascination?

She could have been left in (relative) peace and quiet. But they chose to release a heavily doctored image of her that would obviously create a media storm instead. They should have done what they said they would and stuck to saying kate wouldn’t appear in public until after Easter.
