Kate's photo appears "manipulated"?

Have just seen news saying that associated press have withdrawn photo as it appears "manipulated". V strange

It's an obvious gambit by the media to force Kensington Palace into giving them the full story.

The idea that Press Agencies are somehow immune from the shoddy tactics of other media outlets is laughable.

It surprises me that the media has standards regarding the photographs that they publish.

It might seem all innocent a vit of tweaking of pictures but with AI pictures are now manipulated more easily to the point of how do you even know what you are looking is real.

Saw a demo once of how AI helps with imaging on an advert...so a picture is taken, oh crap we need cyclist to be wearing a helmet stick one on. Too many trees let's take them out. Caption it x person cycling down x road... except that doesn't match reality because if you go there it has trees.

Pretty eye opening to see what's to come.

I think it's a shame they are needing to manipulate pictures.

I feel concerned for that family and if I am concerned then there will be others who are beside themselves with worry. It IS now strange and this photo thing is even stranger.

Odd how there's no reflection in any of the glass. Kate's right leg / knee/ thigh looks distorted too.

In a previous photo, Louis apparently had a finger missing due to the photoshopping. But no agency removed that so the issue with Charlotte's sleeve wouldn't necessarily cause it to be removed.

Often the photos they take have been taken several months before they are released and they don't say when they were taken. This time the Palace have said it was taken this week. Could it be the press know it wasn't taken this week and don't want to be complicit in a lie? The most obvious thing to date it would be that Louis is missing a lower tooth or that perhaps Charlotte's hair is much longer in the photo than it currently is. But none of us are going to be able to say what Louis's teeth and Charlotte's hair look like now to disprove when it was taken.

I don't understand why it would be pulled.

They probably had a few photos and combined them to get the best pictures of each person together.

To me it seems likely that if the other photo in the car is real and she is swollen from steroids, then this photo has been manipulated to make her look her usual self. Her hands may well be swollen hence not wearing the rings and her hands have also been shrunk causing the strange ripples nearby.

The whole thing seems very odd though. The least sinister explanation is that she has something like IBD and doesn't want to talk about her bowel, or be seen when not her usual self. She has a right to privacy of course but I can't help feeling intrigued.

I noticed that about the leg just now too. Like there's a bit missing, just like the finger.

If Charlotte's wrist was in line with the "extra" bit of Catherine's hand, we wouldn't have necessarily been able to see that the wedding ring was missing.

The minute I saw the picture this morning, it just felt "off". I've realised it's the same feeling I get when I look at AI images. It does look a bit AI-ish to be honest.

Just reading about a hemicolectomy, that would appear to be major surgery and would fit with the timeframes. They might have been better just saying that though instead of all of this unnecessary drama.

If they'd have said that in January (if that's what it is) I would have just thought 'oh right, I hope she's ok and gets better soon' and really not thought much more about it until Easter or whenever they said it would be. I expect a lot of others would be the same.

I had a closer look at the photos since the news about them being pulled broke. I have to admit at first I thought that people were reading way too much into this, but then I took a closer look at the photos and Kate's right hand (shown on the left of the photo) is blurry and appears photoshopped whereas her other hand is in focus. There are also inconsistencies in the tile floor which appear to show them blurred and lines and spots duplicated / overlapping. I've included two photos, once closer up showing the areas

My initial thoughts on this photo were that it's likely Kate has gained weight after surgery - fair enough, as it could be due to medication, water retention or just general inactiveness due to not being able to work out / move as she usually does.

But I have also spent enough time around professional photographers and had the chance to compare professional photos with ones taken by family / friends. I don't believe William took this photo on his own accord. The lighting and posing are 'too perfect'. This is a very professional and staged looking photo, that a 'normal dad' all things considered could not take. So unless there was a professional photographer who set this up and William merely pushed the button to capture the photo, I do find it a bit suspicious.

Well basically if they have been able to spot some parts of it were altered we don't know how much it was altered . I think we have a right to see them unaltered .🤷🏻‍♀️

Just carrying on with the chrohn's theory for a minute, if you remember the magician dynamo, he had similar and was very, very swollen for a while. Maybe Kate is the same, but how silly to pretend that's not what's happening and try to pass off a fake photo.

I don't know why her lack of rings is such a drama. For one thing as pp said her fingers may be swollen due to meds but that aside there are numerous photos of Catherine over the years and she's not had her rings on & noones batted an eyelid.

The irony of the media now taking the moral highground because they think the photos are altered yet happily post paparazzi photos with no questions asked
