When was the last time you cooked a roast dinner?

I think it was Christmas Day for me!

I used to cook the family a roast dinner every Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now it’s just me and a teen dc at home and they are really fussy and it’s a lot of food for two if you do a joint and all the works. I like leftovers the next day but they don’t.

Anyway maybe it’s because it’s Mother’s Day, I just thought I’d love a roast now. It’s too busy to go out so I will make the effort to cook next weekend instead. Are you someone who cooks every Sunday or rarely like me?

@fridaynightdinner12346 it’s a Delia one, it’s just parboiled parsnips then when they’re still steaming you coat them in a mixture of Parmesan, flour and some other things and then into hot oil and roasted until crispy - if I’m being totally honest I have never actually cooked a roast as dh does all the cooking 😂 these are delicious, I think the recipe would definitely be available to find online. If you struggle to find it let me know and I’ll ask dh.

Maybe once a month? We don't tend to do a roast in the summer though, but we will often do a BBQ every weekend as our 'big' Sunday meal at lunchtime.

Unpopular opinion, I know, but I'm not a massive fan of a roast. It's a bit same-y for me and I've never been a big meat and two veg sort.

Found it thank you! Will deff be making these! Usually do a sticky honey roast parsnip but these sound amazing!
