Do you have a favourite pasta shape?

Strange question I know, but inspired by listening to my DCs aged 4 and 7 having a discussion over breakfast this morning 😁
Discussion promptly ended when 4yr old declared “Hoops” to be the best. Yes, “hoops” as in tinned 😆

Shells, because the cheese fills the shell. Twists last for me, I think because I have them most often because of young kids

My favourite is the ones in tins made by Heinz in the shape of popular children's characters. I think it's still Minions at the moment (the characters change every few years).
Second is Hoops on toast.
Your 4 year old has good taste.

I hate spaghetti as it makes too much mess, also dislike bows as the middle doesn't cook as quick as the edges so either raw middle or overcooked edges.
I used to really like radiatori but haven't seen them for sale recently. I usually buy penne or conchiglie as they are the cheapest but sometimes treat us to spirali as that's my favourite!
I know you are supposed to match the sauce to the shape but I don't worry about that!

I Like tagliatelle but hate spaghetti - no idea why, it's completely irrational!

Depends on the sauce!
I've recently changed to wholemeal and there is far less variety available. I do like the extra large rigatoni or shells though.

Sainsbury do a thick spaghetti with a hollow centre. It is in the taste the difference section. It is fabulous for carbonara. So it’s my favourite shape, even though I don’t know what it’s called..

We nearly always have penne. I don’t like shells because they always seem to be wet!

Not had bows since childhood, mum was a fan of bows 😁

Depends on the sauce, but penne is my least favourite. Rigatoni is probably my favourite as it’s so versatile.

I firmly maintain that spirali are better then fusili. And I HATE macaroni.

Twists are my favourite at the moment. I always used to have shells. Not keen on tubes. Don't know why. I never have bows. Only when they come in a pasta salad. But I wouldnt think of buying dried ones.

I hate twists but I don't know why ? Penne,bows and macaroni are good for me.

Penne and Rigatoni and Pappardelle are my favourites.

I don’t like Farfalle. The middles are always hard.

DD likes Fusilli

Trotolle. But I refuse to eat fusilli. Irrational I know.

DC's comfort pasta was penne with butter and parm

Spaghetti with bolognaise, angel hair with prawns, linguini with swedish meatballs and gravy, tubes with the tomato oven pasta bake made famous on tiktok, macaroni in cauloiflower macaroni cheese although bowties have been known to make a fun switch and on it goes

I like a special mini fusilli called eliche (propellers).

Tricolor fusilli is our fave. Penne next. Cant stand farfalle bows cos they never cook just right.

I like shells best, but my DC prefer bows so thats what we usually have.

Conchiegle (shells) for rattatouille cheese pasta bake and also for serving with cooked tuna, cheese sauce and tinned tomatoes.
