Re-watching old Walking Dead and I'd forgotten about the wonderfully-named producer Caleb Womble.

Best name ever, for me. What's yours?

One of the lovely nurses who looked after me after my heart op was Precious Onabanjo.

They're not funny names, but it used to please me greatly to work in the same department as a Phil Collins and an Eric Clapton. 😀

I had a landlord once called Mr Hansel Beechey- Newman, he said 'you'll get used to it, I had to'

I've remembered my friend's Gran who was called Fanny Brown then got married and was called Fanny Hair.

I could never decide it double barrelled to Fanny Brown-Hair would have been better or worse

Doing our family tree, I discovered a great great great aunt called Fanny Cramp.

My college English Lit teacher was Liz D’Arcy. She had a PhD in a Jane Austen related topic.

Coincidence or a cunning plan?

I had a physics teacher called Mr Newton!

Phyllida Cod. I was told she later married a man called Fish. I hope it's true.

Fairly ordinary, and always makes me smile: P. Green.

Nurse doing my scan last year: Divine Justice. The scan showed a problem, so maybe it's my punishment for something 😳

I knew a PE teacher called Jim Hall which he hated.

Also knew someone who changed her name on marriage so her last name was exactly the same as her first name ie Grace Grace. Why would you do that through choice? Absolutely bizarre thing to do. She was a total fuckwit anyway.

Similarly I know a Carol Carroll

My great great grandmother was Betty Batty.

I've remembered a lad at high school, called Giles St Botolph. Quite why his parents wanted to send a posh lad, with a name like that, to a rough, inner city comp has always puzzled me.

There was a dentist in Belfast called Julio (as in Iglesias) McFadden!

Friend's boss has the surname Dick. His mother was Fanny Dick

Something on TV the other day and one of the crew members in the credits was Lucas Browneyes. I hope he has brown eyes.

I wish I was lucky enough to have a surname like Love or Lovewell. It sounds so nice!

My surname is Love.

You'd be surprised how many times you have to spell it out 😊

Didn't change it when I got married either, I was born a Love, and will die a Love.

ThePensivePig · 08/03/2024 17:01

My son has a friend called Blessing. (What a beautiful name!)
Brother has a colleague called Jelly Wang.

Tootytoot78 · 08/03/2024 17:02

I met a lady called Lisa Honeyball, I thought it would make a fabulous Bond girl name!
There used to be a GP in our town called Dr De'ath.

Dad had a friend called Yakimoto Hamilton. DDad would be in his 90s if he were still alive, those really multinational names were a lot more unusual back in the 1950s.

My dentist is called Mark Clark. 🤷‍♀️

"I was born a Love, and will die a Love." ❤️

If that was my surname there's no way I'd change it either!

The impressively-named Justice Daffodil Cosgrove handed out the sixth-form leavers' awards at my secondary school back in the early 1980s.

I once worked with a Florrie Quarry - she said she only realised on her wedding day what she was going to be known as for the rest of her life!
